Yeasty fruit notes and dry from added sugars and a high carbonation chris_o (4393), London, Greater London, England Dec 7, 2006 On draught at Café Evald, Silkeborg, August 2005. Hazy orange colour. Reasonably hoppy aroma and flavour, with some pine character. Soft tropical fruit and orange notes too. There’s a distinctly yeasty edge to the flavour that gave it a slightly Belgian feel. Although I now see its classified as a Belgian Ale so perhaps no great insight on my part there. Clean and fresh. Well made and, whilst it might not be the most exciting beer in the world, there’s no denying its smooth drinkability.
rauchbier (2860), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England Oct 20, 2006 DBF 2005. Hazy gold, moderate white head and low condition. Sweet and pleasantly yeastily fruity in the aroma, more sweet yeastiness coming through in the mouth with a touch of chalkiness and a low bubblegum fruitiness. Lingering but restrained yeast bitterness in the finish.
