Bottel from Fonefan, thanks! Deep dark brown color. Coffee, caramel and maple syrup in the aroma. Licorice and coffee in the roasty maltflavor. White pepper. Sweet, hardly any carbon. Full bodied. Powerful imperial stout.

Bottle. It pours a minimal sized beige head over a lighlty unclear dark brown body. Sweetish, almost cough syrup like aroma with a nice grassy, citrusy hoppyness. Oxidation and dark dried fruits. Full body, sweetish and softly carbonated. Some alcohol warmth. Lots of sweetish, roasted oxidized malts, with some chocolate and a pleasant hoppyness. Not much bitterness though, or it disappeares in the sweetness. Some warmth in the finish. Well, it feels more or less like a dark English style barley wine than like an imperial stout. 130516

Scopey (3229) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 16, 2012
Bottle thanks to Ken at the 0-65% tasting. It pours deep cloudy ruby-brown with a thin beige head. The nose is roasted malt, coffee, caramel, sticky sweetness, chocolate, fudge and ovaltine. The taste is sweet chocolate, caramel, fudge, dull bitterness, wood, umami aspect, light astringency and alcohol warmth that creeps up on you. Finishes sweet. Medium body, fine carbonation and soft mouth-feel. Too sweet for my particular tastes.

The 0-65 tasting. Four guys, fourteen beers, average abv 12.9%, 65 mins! Almost opaque dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Super smooth light palate. Very light for it’s abv. Semi sweet dark malts, quite smooth. A little vanilla and milk chocolate. Subtle dark fruits underneath. Pleasant and easy going.

Bottle @ The 0-65% Tasting. Cheers, Ken! The pour’s deep reddish brown with a medium tan head. The nose is red berry, brown, sugar, earthy tree sap and light pepper. The taste is red berry pit, some wild berry and wood. Very sweet brown sugar finish. Slightly oily, big beer. Overall, this certainly didn’t taste much like and imperial stout to me. Still, it’s nice, if sweet.
