KnutAlbert (2313), Oslo, Norway Sep 9, 2008 Brown beer with rocky head that disappears fast. Orange aroma.
The taste? Malty beer bse, oily citrus, sharp sting in the finish that ends up a bit yeasty. Not wholly succesful. tarjei (1295), Bryne, Norway Aug 29, 2008 50 cl bottle. Hopheads´ tasting 22. august. Clear amber color, ok beige head. Aroma is sweet floral and citric. Flavor is sweet malty and citric/orange. A bit thin, but interesting and rather nice. Beer_2000 (1269), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 8, 2008 500 ml bottle. Clear amber body with a disappearing off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, hops and a hint of orange. Flavor is quite sweet, some caramel, a fruity bitterness (like the white stuffer under orange peel) and a hint of hops and spices. Long, sweet and gentle bitter finish. Not totally great, but interesting and well worth a try. Rune_Stumo (103), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway Jul 31, 2008 02.08.2008, BB 14.05.2009. Dark golden amber colour.Firm white head. The smells reminds me more of flowers/roses than of orange. I dont like the smell of it. The taste is sweet and mellow and is more gentle than it s smell. I think the smell remands me of "Wonderbaum" Sigmund (1961), Hafrsfjord, Norway Jul 26, 2008 500 ml bottle, now available in Norway at Vinmonopolet. ABV is 6.0%. Ingredients include 2% orange flower honey, E223 and E300. Golden brown colour, big light tan head with an orangey hue. Unusual and initially interesting aroma of orange peel, spices, oak, fermenting fruits and apple cider vinegar, then some less pleasant "industrial" and sulphurous notes take over. The flavour has caramel and some honey sweetness, with notes of orange peel and undefined fruits. Very little bitterness. Props to Grauballe for brewing unusual beers, but this one doesn’t blow my socks off.
