3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 19, 2014 Hazed ruby tones with a tall, fine off-white head. Hoppy aroma shows the sharp tropical gum and burnt pineapple signature of Citra with a smaller orange marmalade note that’s closer to Cascade. Malt in the nose is nicely toasty and bready. Medium body, moderately sweet, medium+ bitterness with medium-low acidity. Nice balance of bitter and sweet, malt in the finish is a little over-caramelized / burnt, but the finishing hops are nicely oily and juicy. Body seems to have benefitted from lack of filtration, the texture has a cask ale fineness that’s not very common at these American brewpubs. Overall a respectable attempt at hoppy pale ale, but definitely not session strength.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap @ Gravity. Called SIPA-Session IPA during my visit. Pours a dark golden orange appearance with an off white head. Actually smells pretty nice- spicy, piney hops with some resin and orange citrus. A little chalky and grassy flavor. Actually not very sweet like their other offerings. Grapefruit and pine in the flavor. Ok.
