Brewed only in the spring, the Irish Style Ale is a special blend of four types of malted barley and three varities of hops. Bottle. Pours coppery brown with ruby egdes and a 1-figer off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, some red grapes, and some nuts. Medium to light body, with flavors of caramel malt, almond, and vinous fruit.

12oz bottle. 12oz bottle. Poured a dark orange color with an averaged sized head. Aromas of caramel, a little earthy and toasted malts. Tastes of caramel and toasted nuts. Thinner body.

Not too bad. A single-fingered head caps its reddish amber body. The nose is fruity, cherries and apples, with caramel and a faint florlal hopping. The flavor is limited to the fruits and malt, the hops seeming to fade out of sight... but I didn’t expect much bitterness for the style. Quite drinkable.

Deep amber/orange with a wisp of white head. Malt, caramel, hops, pancake syrup in the aroma. Thin and watery body with some hop flavor that faded as soon as it was swallowed. I’m sure the Irish would not like to be associated with this brew.

bottle-hmm, i maybe one of the few people here that really liked this beer. clear deep copper hue with a small off-white head. light pine, apples, cherries, light mineral content, some light caramel malts with some huskiness. flavors show the good dose of hops-piney and lightly resiny. lots of apple sweetness, grain husk and some nice cherry notes as well. body holds up well and acentuates all the character in this fine session ale. finish is light and sweet. Very good!

A hearty yeasty aroma mixed with the fragrance of dried plums ascends from the glass to great the nose. It is a copper colored beer that produces no head. This beer is thin and watery and offers the palate a citrusy-malty flavor that fades fast.

On tap at Madison airport. Deep amber beer with a very nice golden head. No nose to speak of. Sweet biscuity malts dominate, little after that. Probably too bitter for style, but dry and highly quaffable. Late Goldings or Fuggles add a note of spice. Pretty good.

StewardofGondor (1934) - Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 28, 2005
Deep, red amber in color. Small, off-white, creamy head maintains its presence throughout. Smells hoppy and of sweet caramel malts. Also picking up toasted nuts and maple honey. Taste is different than the smell, and for the worse. Hops overpower the malts and no balance is achieved. The result is a thin, bitter ale. Aftertaste is burnt almonds and caramel. Borderline classification as an old ale - finishes somewhere in between an amber and an Irish ale. Pass on this one.
