Pours medium to dark brown. Aroma has lots of spice, mostly ginger with some fruit in the background. Flavor is all spice with a little smokiness in the finish. Great winter brew.

Rich reddish brown with a small head. Smells like a dentists office and cinnamon. Taste is spicy with pepper and cinnamon, grape and cinnamon and sour orange peel and cinnamon. Its zippy and interesting but way too much cinnamon. Did I mention this tastes like cinnamon?

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2005 Mahogany color with purple highlights, decent head. Big spicy gingerbready aromas. Flavors of ginger, cinammon, sassafrass? Nice hop touch after the spice. Not a fan of spiced beers, generally, but this is OK.

Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Very spicey aroma with lots of ginger and light cinnamon. Pours a dark reddish-brown with no transparency and a small tan head that quickly becomes a ring. Spciey flavor with ginger and light cinnamon with a touch of sweetness in the finish.

Dark brown body with some ruby light showing through. The huge head is tan colored. The aroma is ginger bread with some cherries. The taste is dark bread and coffee with the ginger in the aftertaste. I get a hint of anise. A fairly heavy beer that warms you up. The mouthfeel is slightly sticky. A decent winter brew.

Coffee flavor strong. Dark coffee colored Beer. Very different from any other beer I’ve had in this style. I think this one is the best I’ve had in this category. Cinnamon, fruit undertones in a spicy but well balanced beer. Strength from this brew comes via the potent coffee flavoring. Only 8 before me have tried it, I’m pleased JPDIPSO sent this one my way.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Pigfoot (2267) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 12, 2004
Aroma: pumpkin pie, spices galore, cinnamon, clove, and so much more, very warm, very flavorful, very nice.
Taste: big blast of hops starts us off, and greets the tongue most amiably, though spices are in full effect. Lush texture, toasty, tasty, full malt, never-ending spice character. Big texture, with a brief, and welcome, flourish of fruit, cherries, grapes, a hint of brandy, giving it more of a barleywine-ish feel.
Long finish, full-flavored, earthy, lusty, and ever-more tasty!

Small tan head, short lived, no lace. Pretty, clear mahogany color. Nose of nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and a hint of chocolate and whatever else!? Medium body, oily mouthfeel. Solid malt body. Chocolate base is well suited for the spice blend, works well together. Also getting some pine notes, vanilla also. Gotta be one of the best spiced holiday brews i,ve ever had the pleasure of drinking! Thanks to jpdipso for a shot at this one.

Dark brown in colour with small white head. Sweet spicy aroma a bit like "Old Spice" tasted like it as well. Was quite woody/surupy.
Question. Am I supose to to heat it up like muled wine?
Very different and would certainly remind you of Christmas in the Northern Hemisphere.
