07.12.05 Tap at brewpub. Paler honey amber, small but creamy off-white head. Fairly earthy, a touch over oxidized with a tinge of metal. Lifeless body, sweet and watery. Alas, I’ve had worse in far less attractive surroundings.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Bif (624) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - SEP 18, 2010
On tap at the Great Adirondack Steak and Seafood Co. Served an amber color with a good head that slowly faded to some lacing. Mild aroma of malt & grain. Malt with some caramel sweetness. Had a light bitter finish.
Medium body & clean. Nothing fancy. Nice brew, worth a try. Really went well with my dinner.

Pours a clear amber color with no head. Aroma of caramel and toasted malts. Flavor is mostly caramel and toasted malts with a touch of hops. Decent beer though not impressive.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 JoeMcPhee (6967) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - APR 4, 2010
Tap at Pony Bar. Amber pour with a thin head. The nose is lightly caramelly and toasty with a fairly typical unassertive toastiness. There is a really unpleasant chlorine note that I can’t pin down to either the beer or the glass. Light herbal hopping with a weak dusty finish. Meh… not much to write about here.

10th to rate this.. making or breaking this sucker. On tap @ Brewpub sampled both on nitro and carbon. The regular carbon dioxide was a better match for this ale. However, not much going on besides caramel malts. Pretty boring, thin, and uninspired.

not my favorite style admitedly, but I found this beer to be lackluster, and not overly flavorful. Aroma was non existent, malt dominated taste with some noble hops thrown in there for a somewhat earthy flavor. Eh.

(Rating #549)

(Draught) Sampled at the Central New York Brewfest in Syracuse on February 4, 2006. Thin, almond head atop a copper body. Nose of roasted malt and grassy. Flavours of caramel malt, Kent Golding hops, dough and a touch of maple. Good stuff.

4 oz. sample. Clear copper pour with a thin film. Malty aroma, roastiness. Smooth, roasted malt flavors, biscuity. Mildly hoppy, really nice balance. Some sweetness, decent red beer. Available also via nitro pour...I find a distinct metallic taste in the nitro sample. Other characteristics are very similar.
