This Belgian-Style Saison is a traditional ale brewed in Belgian farmhouses as a restorative for workers at the end of a long summer day. This ale is golden colored and uniquely complex. Look for aromas of orange and peach with an undertone of spices. Although light in body and highly carbonated, this ale is flavorful with spicy notes, fruit flavors and a light peppery finish. Available mid-July.

Drank on tap (14 oz onder the name Saison) at the brewpub on September 19, 2012. Golden blond, thin head. Barley spicy aroma, sweet herbs. Malted taste of dry herbs, slightly hoppy, dry bitterness. It deserves its awards!

GABF 2010. Pours a clear golden with a thin off white head. Aroma is slightly tart, fruity, citrus, earth, grass, leather, toasted malts, spicy and sweet with piney sappy hops. Flavor is more white pine sap, grass, hops, slight dirty doughy yeast, phenolic, crackers, wheat and toast with more fruity juicy tones in the finish. Strange beer- not great, but not horrible.

Pours a clear yellow with no head. Aroma of citrus-orange and peach with mostly orange and peach flavor with enough spice to take the sweetness from the fruit flavors. Decent beer.

on tap-pours a disappearing white head and gold color. Aroma is clove, barnyard, medium/light fruit, yeast, some malt. Taste is lots of clove (too much for me), barnyard, medium/light fruit, yeast, some malt, peppery. Good effervescence.

07.12.05 Tap at brewpub. Orangish gold with big white head that fades to nil. Light and tropical. Some spice on nose. Lots of spice on palate, maybe more than the malt can handle. Lots of citrus and some pineapple. Wet finish.
