Draft @ Great Basin. Pours a clear, pale straw color; thin white head with patchy lacing. Strong, fresh note of jalapeno in the aroma; nicely peppery, very light heat. Medium mouthfeel: the jalapeno note is really the only thing going on here, but it’s clearly expressed: fresh pepper, light-to-medium heat, like biting into a crisp green pepper followed by a chomp of jalapeno; well-expressed, clear show of the veggie. Nice work here. Lengthy finish: the sugar and lightly toasted grains fade quickly while the pepper flavor and heat (light) linger.

Appearance: clear pale yellow, fine white head, drippy lace
Aroma: huge chili aroma with just a hint of malty sweetness

Tap at Brewpub: Gold, light head and lacing. Nose of light jalapenos and nacho cheese, creamy malts. The flavor is light and refreshing with a snappy jala and cheese hit. It’s just like the fake nachos you get at a county fair. Dunno how they did it, but it’s a nice flavor. Light afterburn on the lips.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 0o9i (433) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JUN 2, 2005
On tap @ brewery. 5.3% ABV. Crystal clear, lightly sparkling, offwhite head that’s small and leaves spots of lace. Smells of fresh Jalopenos and very earthy, musky, leather with pale malts. Light body with rich, creamy//foamy carbonation and a dry finish. Flavor of caramel, sugar, freshly diced peppers, light hops and pale malts and apple. The brew began to taste terrifyingly similar to Budweiser as it warmed--don’t let it sit!
