pinkzambia (881), Boise, Idaho, USA Mar 14, 2008 Tap @ brewpub: Dark brown with red hues. The aroma is sweet with strong chocolate notes and mild notes of soy sauce. Dark choco-coffee flavors and in my opinion, more coffee than chocolate. However, in the prolonging aftertaste, there is some deep lingering chocolate. Perhaps, they should call it "Death by Mocha Stout." 0o9i (251), Reno, Nevada, USA Aug 13, 2004 On tap. Thin head, dark brown body, opaque, sheets of lace leaving only splotches until it warms, as it was served far too cold. Once warmed, lace is beautiful, arcing rings from a light tan head. Light aroma of chocolate, nuts and house yeast. Mouth is creamy, silky and semi-dry on finish. Flavor is chocolate, house yeast, lightly toasty, bakers chocolate on finish with hazelnuts and alcohol upon warming. Ernest (4229), Boulder, Colorado, USA Apr 13, 2004 Draught. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, chocolate, coffee), with a note of vanilla. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A competent chocolately stout.
