COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It was hard to do – but we improved one of our favorite beers. This fruited strong ale has the strength of Hercules, yet cool and appealing like the other side of the pillow.

On draft at the brewpub 7/14/05: Bright yellow but hazy and thinly topped. Almost a raspberry aroma. Lo and behold this has an interesting and wonderful mix of a fruit beer with a kick-a$$ syrupy-alcohol backdrop. Original and excellent.

Has kind of a sacachrine like fruit nose, slightly sour and bitter. It’s fake and artifical tasting. Way too light in the body, with almost a touch of diacietyl hinding in the background. This is bitter and horrid.

On tap at the 06 Great Alaska Beer and Barley Wine Festival. Straw gold color with a huge frothy white head. Really odd nose of sweet sugar and strawberries. Mostly berry flavored with some thin malts trying to poke through. The program said it was 8% ABV, but it sure didn’t seem like it. Not the worst fruit beer I’ve had, but not the best by far.

(Draft: Great Bear Brewing Co. in Wasilla, AK) Strong raspberry nose is very inviting. Medium yellow color, no pink tint here, and slightly hazy. And no head at all when poured. But boy, that aroma is nice, I’m looking forward to tasting this beer. Ewwww! This is "stick your tongue out" bad. I hope the bartender didn’t see my face. Sure, there’s lots of sweet, but artificial-tasting raspberry is this beer, but it’s also quite bitter and that really ruins the beer for me. What an awful finish. Lighter body, but enough sweetness in the beer so that it’s not watery. But wow, lose the bitterness and this could be okay.
