On tap at the brewpub. Pours a golden amber with a smaller bubbly white head. Aroma of some grapefruit, pine, mixed citrus and some caramel malt. Flavors of the pine and kind of floral. A little on the thin side.

@ Great Alaskan Barleywine Festival ’06. Poor nose, lite citrusy piney, a little bready. Brownish yellow color. Bitter flavor. Metallic and grapefruit. Medium body, smooth creamy mouthfeel, sharp metallic bitter finish. I just don’t get it. With a name like double trouble I was hoping for more. To be fair jsquire did warn me about this one, but I didn’t take it. Wish I had, at least it wasn’t a full bottle or pint.

On tap at the 06 Great Alaska Beer and Barley Wine Festival. Yellow beer with a frothy white head. Very fresh pine nose. This is a thin IPA with harsh raw hoppy flavors. Disjointed pine and grapefruit rind and an almost soapy finish.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Rastacouere (5923) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 10, 2005
Clear gold appearance, showing a long-lasting rocky egg-shell head. The nose is rather subtle for that family, maltiness being limited to unchallenging breadiness. Flatish palate, light-medium bodied. Develops a concentrated hops feeling, earthy, floral, grapefruity and rather soily, but no maltiness backs it up which leaves a mostly disappointing experience.

GABF. Pours a beautiful gold. Aroma is an immediate rush of hops. Flavor is nice and biting hops followed by a rounding out of grapefruit. Palate coats suitably. Surprisingly good.

On draft at the brewpub 7/14/05: Ruddy orange with a sticky-sided head. Bountiful citric hop aroma. Very nice grapefruity hop character but not overpowering with a great easy-drinking basis. Outstanding.
