Golden and opaque. Great fruity nose smells like green apples. Nice malty/grainy flavor with a touch of sourness in the finish. Recommended.

Alright, I had it as part of the on tap "Flight" sampler selection at Brewriver GastroPub - It’s a yellow, high white headed blonde ale that is very drinkable and repeatable, but I found it lacking in body and it’s just not my favored type of beer.

Araoma of orange and malt. Hazy orange color with a thick creamy head and foamy lace. The taste is hard to follow - begins with citrus and malt, then turns sour, taking that late into the finish when citrus returns. Different, but not particularly palatable. Not recommended.

16oz can. Big foamy white head, that fizzes loudly. Surprisingly amber / orange colored. Hazy body. Some lace. Weird tangy metallic taste. Aroma of over-ripe oranges and wet pennies. Weird bite to this. Smooth texture to the stronger carbonation, more dry finish, but some stickiness in the aftertaste. Some zesty sweetness. Light funkiness. Disappointed

Aroma - What aroma? Seriously, I am only getting a very faint biscuity smell. My nose actually took an accidental dip in this because I had it buried in the glass trying to get a smell. Appearance - Clear, yellow, thin. Looks like a Budweiser sans carbonation when pouring out of the can. Thin white head that dissipated immediately. When held up to the light, appears a light orange-ish yellow color. Taste - Slight malty taste, a bit of cereal, a bit of honey, a little bitter and a little sweet at the same time. Not much of anything strong. Absolutely no lacing on the glass. Palate - Low carbonation, kind of thin. Kind of like a lager but without the carbonation. Overall - Pretty low showing for a blonde ale. I really expected stronger fruit smell and taste. Great Crescent is a great brewery with some amazing other beers! It’s just this one turns out to be a bit of a disappointment.

Draft sample at BrewRiver. Poured a hazy amber color with a moderate fizzy off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Medium malty and hop aroma. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Smooth drinkable brew. 16 ounce can. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a hazy dark gold color with a small off-white head that went away pretty quickly. Not much lacing. The aroma is weak, the brew smells like bready and sweet malt, and a bit of honey. Taste is similar to the aroma, but I can also taste some herbal hops. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it’s a bit coating and has moderate carbonation. For the most part it’s an average overall brew. Worth a try if you can get a single can like I did, but I wouldn’t buy a 4 pack of this.

Can. Lemon, barley malt and bitter herbal hops aroma. Golden yellow color with moderate head. Lightly sweet barley malt and moderately bitter herbal hops flavor. A solid Blonde ale.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2012 Aroma of white grape, honey, herbal hops, pear. Appearance is gold with foamy white head. Flavor matches the nose; the palate is soft and bubbly. Good blonde.

11/15/2008: Great Crescent Blonde Ale has a fruity and citrusy aroma. It is dark gold in color with a thin, off-white head that provides some lacing. It has a fresh flavor and a good balance of lightly fruity malt with a nice hop presense (Cascade hops?). This medium-bodied beer is mellow on the palate. Overall this is a very good Blonde Ale.
Draught sample at Great Crescent Brewery in Aurora, Indiana. Rating #1 for this beer...
