16 oz can courtesy of Wnoble. Pours dark brown with a 1 finger beige head. Aroma is roasted malt and coffee bean, with a subtle hint of coconut. Flavor has a nice base of roasted malt with thin layers of dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla and lastly, coconut. Just enough in my humble opinion. Smooth, easy drinking palate. Carbonation is to the low side. Very nice.

16 oz. can shared by bsuedekum. Thanks, Blake! The dark gold font on the black sticker on the label makes it hard to read. Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head that settles into a ring. Aroma of toasted and roasted malts, coconut, chocolate, mild coffee, nuts, and a hint of dark fruits. Flavor of roasted malts, toasted coconut, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, and a metallic note throughout. Medium-bodied, roasty, and metallic, with medium carbonation. Not bad and could be excellent without the metallic note. Is it the can or what?

Can to oversized snifter (thanks Chris). Looks alright; LOTS of head. Smells Decent; you can pick up on the coconut. Tastes decent, but not special with an average mouthfeel. Not bad, but won’t buy again.

Chudwick (564) - Taylor Mill (KY), FRANCE - APR 21, 2012
16oz can - pours all over my desk and partly on my monitor, my daughter’s drawings and the wall - a very lively pour to say the least. I hope the rest of the experience is positive, because my first impression less than appreciative. What did make it into the glass pours an opaque brown with quickly diminishing tan head. Nose is roasty and nutty. Flavor adds little other than a reminder of how much this tastes like the Rivertown Oatmeal Stout (not a compliment) but this is way better. Easy to drink but very plain.

Pours a dark black, with just a hint of brown at the edges. It has a nice tan head that fades down to a small covering fairly quickly. It has a nice roasty aroma that is balanced by an underlying sweetness. This is a great beer. The flavor starts with the sweet coconut, but then plays back and forth from sweet to bitter. Coffee, chocolate, coconut all playing their roles. Awesome stuff!

16oz can pours black with a beige head. Aroma shows heavy roast with notes of dark chocolate, light smoke and cold black coffee. Flavor shows sweet notes of coconut to soften up the heavily roasted bitterness as well as some underlying vanilla and a touch of salted meat. Overall body is moderate and creamy with a heavy roasted finish.
