On cask at the Great Dane. I’m not really a fan of there beer, but this one is ok. Very smooth mouthfeel. Good coffee and chocolate taste.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
This draft brew from the brewery poured a extremely small sized head of frothy finely sized clear colored bubbles that were fully diminished and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque dark ruby red brown colored body and a poor lacing. The mild aroma was roasted malt. The flat mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering mild roasted malt aftertaste. The weak flavor contained notes of black malt roasted malt and . Not one that I would likely drink again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at the downtown brewpub. Brownish-black color with a medium beige head that diminishes gradually to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, roast malt and coffee. Medium-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, roasted coffee and mild hops. The finish is roasty with a mocha aftertaste. Decent overall.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Fitchburg. Pours a very dark brown with a great nitro-looking off-white head, that retained some lacing. Aroma has chocolate and dark earth. Later, some caramel presence showed. Taste was all watery dark earth - occasionally muted bakers chocolate would show. Their highest rated brew??? Should’ve tried the pale, I guess.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at the Great Dane in Downtown Madison, served in an imperial pint glass. Gorgeous near-black pour with a finger of creamy beige head. The aroma is too sweat, with tons of chocolate and cream and some vanilla that overwhelm any toast or coffee hanging out in the background. Those come more to the foreground in the flavor, which has far better balance. Light-medium bodied, with soft carbonation and a smooth mouthfeel. Good porter.

Pours a dark brown, with off white head. Lots of coffee and roasty notes on the nose. Coffee and chocolate on the palate, with just pinch of hops.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Great Dane in Fitchburg. Black pour from a cask. Moderate lacing on the glass. Aroma of cocoa, roasted malt, leather. Taste is the same, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Medium body, slightly thin finish. Still a full flavored and long lingering roasted brew. A great cask porter.
