3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 awaller05 (302) - Sharon, USA - MAR 14, 2008
On tap at the brewpub: Kind of lacking any real flavor except for a bitter flavor. I was expecting a thick feeling liquidl, what I recieved was a thin watery feel. Overall the brew pub is a nice visit in downtown Madison, but don’t expect a great beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Sammy (6129) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 8, 2011
A dry stout yet not too drying, enjoyed on tap at the downtown brewpub. 4.35% abv. Looks great, dark and creamy. But the coffee gound tastes made it only so-so drinkable as not compelex. Could be better on tap
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BVery (2559) - Burnsville, Minnesota, USA - SEP 1, 2011
On nitro tap at the brewpub in Wausau, WI. Very dark brown pour with a large retentive nitro creamy head. Sweet and roasty on the nose. Full bodied palate, smooth, and not too heavy. Taste was mild chocolate, roast, and a touch of hops poking through.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 stangger (518) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 26, 2011
On tap at the downtown location in Madison. Notes only. Dry roasted malts. Very dry. Better than Guinness, not that that’s saying much.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 crossovert (2791) - Wisconsin, USA - AUG 14, 2011
This is your typical dry stout. It is watery, creamy, and lightly roasty, not too exciting.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Chel (32) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 21, 2011
coffee, earthy, alcohol, black, brown foam, light sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, oily feel, creamy, average carbonation, bitter finish, a good stout similar to Guiness but more alcoholy in taste, a bit brighter in flavor, and creamier yet not as soft on the palate. A good beer overall.

On tap at brewpub, pours a fizzy dark brown, almost resembles pop, the aroma is of dark malt with a hint of chocolate, the mouthfeel is very thin with a light coffee bean flavor, glad I only tried this one once.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 zizzybalubba (972) - Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA - OCT 13, 2010
On tap at Great Dane Downtown Madison, WI. Pours black with a thin, foamy khaki head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee. The flavor is chocolate and coffee as well but is a bit thin for my taste. This is an obvious Guinness clone but gets more right than Guinness in my opinion. Very good for what it is even if it tastes a bit watered down.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 NobleSquirrel (2677) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 10, 2010
Draft at Great Dane Downtown. Pours black with crimson at the edges and a tan head. Nose is toasty and crisp with fresh spicy hops in the background. On taste, light bodied and somewhat bland. Light accrid notes and a touch of toffee. Clean bitterness. Okay, but nothing going on.
2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20 sunnyridge (222) - USA - APR 10, 2010
The appearance is right on for the style but I would’ve preferred a denser head. There were roast malts and coffee in the nose but it wasn’t a powerful smell, I really had to get personal with it to smell it. As for the taste it was creamy and had coffee and dark chocolate notes. the mouth feel was smooth but a little too watery. The wateriness takes away from the drinkability
