COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This black brew is a genuine Irish-style stout, rich with the flavor of roasted malts and topped by a dense, creamy head. Our authentic method of brewing and serving stout produces a hearty taste balanced by a wonderful velvety smoothness.

On tap at the brewpub: Kind of lacking any real flavor except for a bitter flavor. I was expecting a thick feeling liquidl, what I recieved was a thin watery feel. Overall the brew pub is a nice visit in downtown Madison, but don’t expect a great beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Comes a very dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, and coffee. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and a small touch of hops. Decent.

Black pour with off white head at their Madison brewery. Dull taste after having the porter. Malta and dryness. Ok coffee flavor.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2013 Tasted on tap at Great Dane’s Downtown location. Opaque dark brow with a frothy head and full lacing. Big stout aroma that does not deliver much taste. Bland and watery. Two words I have never used to describe a stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had it tap at the Great Dane downtown location in Madison. Poured a nice black hue, with a creamy head and even lacing. The aroma was pure coffee bean, the taste was a bit like watery coffee.

Pours black with tan frothy head. Overall matly tones and delicious hoppy finish though not overtly powerful. Its a guiness with an actual classy kick

Tap at GD downtown. Unfiltered brown-black with a thick, creamy, beige head. Roasty chocolate aroma. Nitro pour, way mellow, smooth and sessionable. Somewhat watery, but a pretty decent Guinness-like stout.

Tap. Black pour. Aroma smells burnt. On tasting, chocolate and roast come through. Smooth mouthfeel will a solid, bold, non-bitter roastiness.

Nitro served to a house pint at the pool room bar of the downtown location. Displayed a black/brown color with a thick, moussy, light tan head, and wavy cling to the lacing. The aroma was light but roasted, cocoa & coffee notes were evident. The flavor offered moderate, earthy hop bitterness in a medium+ body. The nitro induced, soft carbonation gave the texture a bit of a watery nature, yet a light silkiness was present in the mouthfeel. Both flavor and finish were smooth, and not too dry.
