Thirsty Troll Brew Fest. Pour is yellow gold with a white head. Aroma shows bready malt and a light presence of noble hops. Flavor shows muffin like malt character with underlying lemongrass, doughy yeast and light florals. Overall body is moderate and finishes with light bitterness.

Enjoyed on tap at the downtown brewpub. 38 IBU and 5.4% abv. Golden and lacey. A mild bitterness, neutral aroma, and so-so drinkability. Served at the right termperature, as their beer generally are.

On tap at the Fitchburg location - Pours clear golden yellow with a nice foamy off-white head. Pretty grainy nose, with that lovely floral hop characteristic. A touch too starchy. Taste is pretty malty and not as crisp as I’d like, but has a nice floral hop bite that is subtle but just enough. Easy-to-drink but not watery, I could session this all night. One of my favorite GD brews.

On tap at brewpub, poours a clear golden with no head, the aroma is light and the taste has a decent dough flavor that is okay, just ok.

Draft at Great Dane Downtown. Pours a reasonably clear gold with fine bubbled head that disappears. Nose is very Euro with spicy Saaz notes and sweet graininess from pil malt. Carbonation level is good and on taste, some what sweet with a light bready note and a decent bitter finish. Pretty clean and refreshing, I’ll say.

Tap @ Great Dane, downtown. Pours a clear dark gold with a small wispy white head. Bready and biscuity malt nose with just a little floral hops. The flavor is not very crisp, too doughy and there’s not quite enough hops to overcome it. Finishes a bit flabby and heavy with no real snap. Too full and heavy on the tongue with moderate fizzy carbonation. This one’s not so good.

Pours gold with a modest white head, temporary lace. Aroma and initial flavor have a sharply vegetal character, this fades. Dominant floral hop profile. Malts, are dry, bready, but a bit of honey sweetness sneaks through. Medium body with an almost IPA-like hop burn.

Love this beer! Consistantly one of their best. Poured with a big, foamy, off-white head and plenty of lace. Aroma is hoppy and malty. Color is a very clear, golden amber. Flavor is american hoppy, malty, and bitter sweet. This beer is a little different than its european brothers: more malt and body and so not quite as crisp either. Finish is enjoyable and bittersweet. Nevertheless - righteously quaffable. Definitely a session beer.

Skyview (5023) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - NOV 2, 2008
On draught at the downtown brewpub location in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a clear golden pale blonde brew with a thin white head that has a slow dissipation to a thin white ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of golden grain malt, some white bread character, a touch of corn, and grassy hops. Taste is light to medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of sweet golden grain malt, light citrus and grassy hops and a touch of cream. Finish is semi-sweet, a little fruity with a mild bitterness that quickly disappears.
