On tap at the downtown Madison location - Pours thick and black into a snifter, with a small tan head. Pretty milky on the nose, with some dark roastiness and a touch of heat. The taste is tons of roast with a good deal of bitterness. Espresso and dark chocolate notes linger. Finish is a blast of chocolate, coffee, and roast, with a touch of smoke. Smooth, big-bodied, and silky, this one was a winner.

Growler from Wausau, thanks to BDR! Black color with a very thin and rapidly disappearing head. Strong roasted coffee aroma with some chocolate. A very pronounced sharp roast flavor, both of barley and coffee. A little ashy and some light smoke. After warming, some dark fruit and molasses push forward. Very tasty.

Apparently this might only be at the Wausau location as its supposedly the new brewmasters first completely solo beer after training and apprenticeship. An immensely solid aroma with a sweet burnt caramel aroma amid the chocolate and coffee. Nearly black body with brown head and a solid semi-sweet body.
