2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 phishpond417 (2089) - Madison, USA - MAY 3, 2009
Yeah, you won’t catch me sipping on this again anytime soon. Totally what it sounds like. Light in every way, even the colour was way underdone. Light orange colour with a small white head. With a peculiar stinky couch aroma. Like potatoes stuck in a couch is more like it. Taste is wicked thin, soft hops in the finish with a rather boring body.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Skyview (4880) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - MAY 4, 2009
On draught at the Great Dane downtown Madison location. Pours a golden amber colored brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a thing off-white head. Aroma of golden grain malt with caramel, some citrus zest, a touch of green vegetable and bread dough. Taste is medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, citrus zest and a touch of tart fruit. Finish has a mild tartness and a touch of dry malt aftertaste that lingers after the finish. It’s different.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ughsmash (5836) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - APR 15, 2009
On tap at the downtown Dane. Poured light ambery-golden with a creamy cap of white head.. looked like a nitro pour, but I didn’t ask. The aroma picked up soft bready notes with mild earthy and citrus notes around.. clean and well-balanced. The flavor found lightly-toasted bready and caramel notes at the core with the aforementioned hop presence around (light and airy in character).. tangy on the finish. Creamy feel on the palate with dry, spicy hop accents.. lighter-bodied and again, nicely balance. Very sessionable.
