Pours a nice pint with a full frothy tan head. A nice medium dark chesnut brown. Bit of malt in the nose. Taste is nutty in a biscuity way. Very balanced with only a touch of hop character. Just a good session beer. Very apropos for Madison’s 150th birthday

Clear brown body. Woody amber malt aroma. The flaovr brings in some hazelnut alongside the caramelly brown malt. Well-made but dull.

Pours to a red-hued brown body with a white head. The aroma is molasses or sorghum, dark caramelized malts, simple grains. The flavor is strongly brown sugar, walnuts, molasses. The palate is medium-bodied, creamy, smooth.

Ughsmash (5836) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 5, 2006
On tap at the downtown location. Poured a clear, deep iced tea brown with a short cap of off-white head. Nose was of sweet malts (caramel, berries, and other) with minor earthy-floral hops. Flavor was sweet with berries, toffee, and caramel... plus a rather high alcohol astringency. Lighter-bodied with a nutty, sharp finish.

Rich copper, light off-white head. Has Oreo + caramel malt in taste. Some alco-malt scotch too. Not a bad beer.
