On tap at the Great Dane Brew Pub (Downtown Madison Location). On cask. Poured a medium and cloudy / murky orange color a small sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, light caramel, and some pine. Tastes of caramel, citrus, and lighter pine. Nicely balanced.

Pint at the downtown Madison location. Fitting orange hazy appearance with a velvety white head, it looks delicious. Fresh cut grass and citrus orange juice greet the nose, with some floral hop cones as well. Flavor is similar but with a pretty large twang all over the mouth, suggesting something isn’t quite right here. Cardboard creeps in along with the wet hop oils, and over time there’s flavors of medicinal lip balm and gauze. Low carbonation, almost cask-like but this is CO2, and it finishes with a bit of a vegetable note. Started well, ended poorly.

On tap at the brewpub on 6/22/07: Pours a transparent bright copper with a well-lacing froth of white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt and big fresh grapefruity presence. Body starts full with nice caramel sweet balance with good citrusy bittering and flavor hops before a smooth, bittersweet finish. A nice IPA.

Ughsmash (7101) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 6, 2005
Poured a very cool reddish-orange color with a moderate creamy-white head. Citrus hops were certainly present in the nose (notably grapefruit and orange). These hops were also present in the taste, and mouthfeel was somewhat creamy and carbonated. Full-bodied, well-balanced, and a very nice hoppy aftertaste.

Draft at the Great Dane-Downtown Madison, served in a 10 oz. glass. The imperial pints had already gotten the best of me. Downgraded. Pours a clear orange-gold color with a small, slightly off-white head. Notes of grass, herbs, straw, pale and toasty malts, and some citrus. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a dry, bitter mouthfeel. Very fresh. Nice IPA.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2013 On tap at the brewpub in Wausau, WI. Clear amber pour with a white head. Nose is hop and some scotch-ale sweatsock. Good lively carbonated and hoppy palate. Taste is earthy, caramel malt, hop, and more of the scotch-ale elements. Not my kind of IPA.

On tap at the brewpub in Madison: Nice coppery hue with a nitro infused creamy white head which of course left excellent lace upon the glassware. the aroma has a nice resiny and grassy hop vapours, some grapefruit and orange esters, pepper and biscuity pale malts. The taste starts twangy and slightly acidic with a fair amount of hop bitterness balanced by the malt. The mouth feel is lively and crisp, good body for the style (likely attributed to the nitro pour methinks). Overall a pleasant surprise, a very quaffable IPA.
