Cask into english pint, Madison brew pub (from my notes): Big creamy bubbling yellow oatmeal-looking head over a mostly clear, orange-copper beer. Nice thick lacing. Smell is mild, but there are some corn sugars in there with the faintly flowery hops. Creamy texture (from the cask), buttery caramel malts followed by a metallic, salty bitter in the finish. The middle is kind of mealy before the hops kick in, and overall I didn’t really enjoy this as much as I wanted to. Some beers don’t benefit from cask treatment.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of bread with some sweet grains and a bit of sweet citrus. Flavor starts with bread and a hint of light resin and a growing sweet citrus note.

One of the better IPA’s I had while in door county vacation.
Nothing about it is mind blowing, but it is a solid B beer and I’m sure I could have more than one and enjoy myself.

Sample at the downtown brewpub. Clear pale amber color with a medium thin bone white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of grassy hops, pithy citrus and grainy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with an astringent hops aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

5oz on tap at Great Dane brewpub. Clear orange amber color. Thin off-white kind of greyish head. Leaves good thicker lace. Caramel malt, some spicy rye type aroma. Some mild citrusy fruity piney hop, more malt forward. Moderate sweet taste. Light bitterness. Pretty mild and sweet for an IPA. Medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp light carbonation. Slick texture. Not great.

Pours amber-orange with a long lasting white head. Smooth hop profile, not excessive in any one hop. Not west coast bitter, no "C" hop flavors.

Had on tap downtown: pours a clear orangeish yellow color with white head. Pine, citrus, and floral notes on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a nice hop bite.

Draft at the Great Dane-Downtown Madison, served in a 10 oz. glass. The imperial pints had already gotten the best of me. Downgraded. Pours a clear orange-gold color with a small, slightly off-white head. Notes of grass, herbs, straw, pale and toasty malts, and some citrus. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a dry, bitter mouthfeel. Very fresh. Nice IPA.

Draft at the downtown brewpub. This is a clear, dark amber brew with a medium, sticky head. Drinks quite smooth, if a bit metallic perhaps. Doubt this is a "winter seasonal" since I had it for July 4th brunch. (#5133, 7/4/2013)
