3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 HonkeyBra (2282) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - AUG 19, 2011
On tap at the GTMW 2011. Golden pour with a white head. My girlfriend loves pepper beers so this is one she sought out. Aroma of jalapeños and sweet malt. Mild twinge of happiness buried somewhere in the spicy jalapeños and sweetness. Not the best of Pils of but the peppers give it an added dimension that I quite enjoy. Cool beer to try.

Draft at great Dane. Pours clear golden with white head. Nose of jalapeno, black pepper, and serrono, mild sweet honey base underneath. Flavor has long spicy thai serrono and jalapeno peppers. Spicy hop notes and honey base. Good heat that almost becomes too much. Enjoyed this one but I’m not sure how much I can drink of it.

Super bright and clear straw, the head is off white... Smells like a green pepper, that’s all I get, very fresh and nice if you want a green pepper... Tastes like a green pepper, spicy finish... Tough to drink a lot of but quite interesting
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 cbfobes (1047) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - APR 22, 2011
On tap at downtown location, pours a pale yellow with a thin white head, aroma and flavor is of peppers (big surprise) with some bread and cracker notes in the finish, has a little bit of kick to it, one is enough for me.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 nuplastikk (2615) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 3, 2010
Draft at Great Dane, downtown Madison. Imperial pint pour with a big, yellow body and off white head. Looks filtered. Woah. All out sweet pepper aroma. Interesting stuff. Quite peppery, with a hot chili pepper finish. Habanero, Poplano, Jalapeno. Approaching Cave Creek territory, but a little more drinkable. Somewhat brutal, assumably a one-off. An interesting experiment, would probaly benefit from remaining unfiltered.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Scubatrip (559) - Annandale, Virginia, USA - AUG 23, 2010
On tap at the Midvale location, pours a clear yellow with an ok white head. Smells like hot peppers. Tastes like super nachos. Jalapenos dominate, with some garlic powder and nacho flavors. But mostly jalapenos. Otherwise smooth and appropriately light bodied. Gotta try it, but I probably wouldn’t order two in a night.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 noncaloric (684) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 23, 2009
Pours gold, clear with sparse but large bits of sediment, generous white head, good lace. Aroma is a potent chile heat with little else. Flavor is similarly dominated by chiles, about as hot as a decent buffalo wing sauce, but with substantially less sweetness and body. With effort, I can find the floral hops in the beer, the malts are lost. Lingering heat and vegetable bitterness. Thin bodied, obviously hot.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 notalush (3746) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 10, 2009
This is a fairly well-done pepper beer - the nose doesn’t give much of a hint of the peppers or spice (mostly noble hops and clean pils malt) - the flavor starts out with the earthy taste of the peppers, followed by a strong spiciness which borders of overpowering, but never becomes too much - this mellows out near the end, and the clean, crisp flavors of the base beer come out - spice lingers in the finish - puzzl would really like this stuff.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Skyview (4880) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - NOV 2, 2008
Sampled on draught at the downtown Madison, Wisconsin brewpub. Pours a clear golden copper brew with a creamy off white head that has some excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of green and red bell peppers, a touch of golden grain malt and more herbal spices. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with distinct green bell peppers, golden grain malt and black pepper. Finish starts mildly spicy and then a lingering spice burn that slowly goes away. Got the burps? You’ll definitely taste this one again.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 holdenn (1857) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 16, 2008
On tap at the brewpub downtown. Pours a clear yellow with a white head. Nose of light malts that have soured and slight spice that becomes more apparent as it warms. Light pale malt flavors and a touch of pepper that steadily becomes a strong pepper burning spice that sticks and itches in the back of your throat. Crazy beer, I’m glad I just got a sample of this one.
