As opposed to its bigger Czech cousin Peck’s Pilsner, our German Pils is a traditional German-style brau. The renowned German Hallertau Mittelfruh hop and pilsner malt produce a lighter-bodied pils that finishes crisp yet soft. So authentic and drinkable, it cries “Bring on the liters!”

On tap at the brewpub on 6/22/07: Pours a clear light golden with a thin, spotty-lacing white head. Aroma is mostly earthy Saaz hops with a touch of pale malty grain. Body starts faintly sweet and smooth with a light earthy hoppy balance and fizzy carbonation. An ok pils, but not really my favorite style.

On tap at the Great Dane, Madison. Poured clear, bright light golden with a splotchy cap of white head. Nose was of sweet fruits and corn, with some wet hay and more veggies... blech. Sweet pils malts and sour banana at the flavor core.. alcohol should not have been present at the back end of this lighter brew. Highly-carbonated with sharp alcohol notes and ugly veggies. I hope this was just a bad batch.

Sample from the Great Dane pub at Hilldale. Clear light golden with minimal head. Very much a light beer or as my friend stated "this tastes like dirty water." I couldn’t even finish the sample.

Light light Gold Coloring. One of the more watery / less flavorfull beers on the line. ahhh..pick something else while you’re at the Great Dane.

Had this at the pub. Boy, well it was in a glass. Quite liquid as I can tell. It was also wet. As you can tell there isn’t much to say about this. Yes, it’s a beer. Yes, it tastes like a bad, bad pilsner. Let’s say there wasn’t anything completely horrible about this, but if someone just poured a glass of Coors Light I wouldn’t have known the difference.
