COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a tad darker than our Pilzen Ale, but is still golden in color. It is very similar to Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and is brewed with Pale Ale Malt, Ashburn Vienna Malt, and Bonlander Munich Malt. It is hopped with Simcoe hops for bitterness, and Amarillo and Cascade hops for flavor, aroma, and finishing. It is named after the Chamorro Legend of Sirena. Since our brewery is called The Great Deep Brewing Company and our logo is a mermaid - it just seemed obvious.

Poured cloudy orange/butterscotch with a thin head. Big hop aroma, slight earth notes, and some citrus. Grapefruit and orange in the flavor. Well hopped and goes down well. Very nice to see this brewery open again in Guam. Good stuff.

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2011 Draft at the brewpub. Flavors almost hefe-like. Some sweet malts too. Mouth has a light bitter finish. Resampled at the brewpub. The appearance is a more pale gold with some small white head. The aromas are nice with a bitter earthy hop tone. The flavors are a great medium strength bitter grassy hop. Nice medium malt balance. The mouth is moderately drying. Solid pale ale.

A very tasty Pale Ale. If I didn’t love their Scottish Ale so much, this one would be my favorite. Nice floral hoppy nose, a good west coast (way way west that is) style Pale.
