4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This IPA was on point. Similar in flavor and palate I the Hercules double but unique with the wood aged hints. Great job.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
17th anniverary. I should have drank this fresh beings It’s a dipa for the best flavor but to be honest this beer really aged well for sitting a year. The appearance is a nice reddish brown, smell is of oak, tastes of oak, vanilla and your typical great divide malts and hops used in thier Ipas. Mouthfeel is really chewy which I like in an dipa. Overall I rate this in my top 5 for dipas I’ve had to date. Looking forward to trying the 18th anniversary but this time fresh.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: MAR 13, 2013 17th anniversario, 2011.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Good head, off white, great lacing, amber color, cloudy, mostly diminishing. Hoppy sweet aroma. Sweet start, bitter finish. This is a great tasting beer.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Subtle oak aroma but overwhelmed by earthy citrus hops. Cloudy copper color with big yeast chunks covered with a thick white foam. Bold hop bitterness with a full body. Long lasting bitterness but delicious.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
On draft @ Sergio’s. Rich caramel with citrus notes. Deep copper color with aa small off-white head that faded quickly. Full-bodied with citrusy hoppy bitterness that overtakes the rich layers of caramel and toffee. No astringency from the wood aging; just a smooth, rich double IPA.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: APR 15, 2012 Re-rating for their 18th Anniversary. (Hey Beer Advocate, how about separating the different brews, huh?)
Tempting, hoppy aroma has a strong overtone of fresh-cut green wood - kicked my salivary glands into high gear! It pours a rich, clear coppery amber with a thick and rather persistent pale buttery-tan head. Flavor is nothing short of sublime - quite strong, flooding the palate with wood and hops but only minimal bitterness, though the alcohol bite will wake you up. I detected subtle notes of caramel and apple. Texture has above-average body, a decent amount of fizz, and a good nip. This is a limited release, so catch it whilst you can!

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
17th Anniversary Edition – 75 cl. bottle @ Delrium Hoppy Loft – shared – Curious about this one, not a big fan of IIPA’s or IPA’s but it is not like I hate them, I am a big fan of their Yeti, so… - Went on this one after a brief discussion about which bottle we were going to share – Looks like a caramel with a white head – Smell is incredible, sweet caramel goodness, touch of frangipane, sweet wood, fruits, lots of caramel malt – Taste does feature many of those elements delicious caramel, very strong malt, lots of caramel malt, beating even out the hops, vanilla, sweet wood, sugar, fruits, wonderfully sticky, touch of frangipane but underneath that you get a more or less regular IPA going on with some grapefruit hops & slight floral, great stuff, smell is still a bit better than the smell, oh boy if this would have tasted like it smelled but this one was getting close, ironically the IIPA slightly blocked some of the flavours / Body is wanderfully sticky & sweet / Great stuff, love it, might have been even more of the top but this was great already / That is one hell of a barrel aging

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This double IPA aged on oak chips was an outstanding example. I really enjoyed the cloudy appearance and the balance to this beer.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22oz bomber, 18th Anniversary, bottled on March 21, 2012. Pours a slightly opaque amber close to a caramel apple. Virtually no head. Aroma is pretty mellow, perhaps because of a year in the cellar. Taste is mellow and very even, no hot spots at all. Both the taste and aroma have subtle vanilla notes, with a nice hop finish. This beer aged very well. Spectacular.
