750 mL bottle shared with ebone1988. 2014 vintage. The pour is a nice muddy brown with a nice ruby hint to it. There is a light tan head that falls to a collar and leaves some soapy lacing. The aroma is great. There is a beautiful caramel malt and nice whiskey profile. The barrel offers a bit of vanilla and nice oak. Dark fruits are aplenty and carry a little bright prominence to them. The flavor is, well, interesting. It's got a bright cherry thing going on up front and a heavy dose of oak. There is a nice whiskey presence and a hint of vanilla. There is a bit of a funk, approaching sour that I'm not sure is intended. I can't help but wonder if this was infected. The tartness present throws me. Damn. The mouth feel is thin and watery and the carbonation is light and bright. The aftertaste almost carries a cherry tartness to it, and a little woody funk. Really strange. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared with koleminer20. Aroma is barrel, molasses, dark fruit, bread, malt, maybe gingerbread. Appearance is ruby, dark brown with a light tan head. Taste is....off. Not sure this is how this should taste. Iím getting a very light malt, then tart cherry, it is too light based on aroma. Mouthfeel is thin, right in the middle it morphs from beer to water, itís strange. Overall, I think there is something wrong with this. I hope.

Bottle from Craft. This was absolutely amazing. Drank with Dennis Bell and Knick Knack. Notes of brown sugar, vanilla, hint of cocoa, Wood, Whiskey, Earth and maybe raisin. The blend was awesome.

Boozy taste. Caramel and toffee scent, burnt brown sugar too. Tart /sour taste up front. Palate is thick with sugars that coat the tongue. Not sweet, but lingering. Bottle

Interesting beer. Aroma was vanilla, whiskey and chocolate. Pour was a nice cloudy dark brown with a thin tan film for a head. Taste was good. The whiskey and vanilla/chocolate flavors were there, but there was a distinct tartness that bordered sour that Iím not sure was meant to be there. Made the beer very complex and interesting but I think it was an off flavor. Almost light vinegar on the sides of the cheeks. Medium carbonation. I liked it, but lovers of the original may not

750 ml bottle into snifter; 2014 vintage bottled 2/6/2015. Pours fairly crystal clear very dark reddish brown color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, molasses, chocolate, cocoa, brown bread, nuttiness, leather, vanilla, bourbon, oak, raisin, plum, fig, light herbal, and roast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, oak barrel, and moderate fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, molasses, chocolate, cocoa, brown bread, nuttiness, leather, raisin, plum, fig, light herbal, and roast/oak earthiness. Light herbal bitterness/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toffee, toast, toast, brown sugar, molasses, chocolate, cocoa, brown bread, nuttiness, leather, raisin, plum, fig, light herbal, and roast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, oak barrel, and moderate fruity yeast flavors; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy, and lightly slick mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an awesome barrel aged old ale style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, oak barrel, and moderate fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. Much more dark fruits and less hop character than the regular version, with great barrel balance. A highly enjoyable offering.
