4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
Black with a small head. Aroma is dark chocolate and a bit fruity. Very rich nose. Flavor is big chocolate and roasted malt. Notes of dark fruit and a bit of spice. A touch on the sweet side, it gets a bit cloying after awhile but those first few sips are impressive.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Eulogy. Pitch black pour with khaki foam. Rich roasted dark chocolate backbone. Cold espresso. This "Belgium" version has some odd notes that are not quite working for me. Palm fronds. Crystallized ginger. Cilantro. Floral honeycomb. It is still a Yeti - so obviously still good - just not as good as most other versions.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
In short: A roasted chocolaty Belgian dark ale with an intrinsic spiciness. Good but I prefer its popular sisters.
How: Bottle 22oz, consumed when many month of age.
The look: Black body topped by a medium tan head with medium retention.
In long: Nose is roasted, notes of cacao, a certain cloves-like spiciness, coconut, distant fruitiness. Enjoyable big thick body that doesn’t feel so heavy thanks to a lively Belgian style carbonation, nice mouthfeel here. Nice foamy cake maltiness, sensation of a coconut cake covered with cocoa icing, a sip of highly roasted black coffee, an intrinsic yeast-related cloves-like spiciness. More spiciness in the comeback, this time nutmeg-ish. No alcohol presence whatsoever. I really liked most of this beer but its inherent spiciness did not work for me, just like about any spiciness or spices in a chocolaty roasted black ale. A pretty good beer but inferior to the regular Yeti and its Oak Aged sister. Pretty insulting that I only drank 0.0000000001% of the world supply of beer and I’m considered an alcoholic.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rated on 10-20-2013 (Label says Bottled On: Jun 06 2012) This beer pours a small light brown head that mostly diminished, opaque dark brown body, and spotty amounts of lacing. The Aroma is malty, yeast, chocolate, dark fruit, and a hint of spice. The Taste is roasty, malty, chocolate, and light spice. The Palate is smooth and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer is quaffable, very malt driven and worth trying.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to medium sized brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a opaque black brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was vinous medicinal and mild vinous. The mildly vinous mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering mild roasted malt aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of black malt roasted malt smoky mildly vinous burnt malt brown malt dark malt and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A very dark brown to black beer, it had a average beige brown head. In the nose there is alcohol, coffee, sweet malts. A full bodied beer, but not thick, and a medium carbonation. In the taste there is a medium coffee, caramel, light sour, light bitter. It is a soft and creamy beer. In the aftertaste there is coffee, bitter, and back in the mouth it is slightly sharp and stingy. A very nice imp. Stout, fresh and creamy, but not very bold.

Une belle impérial stout. Une mousse brune et agréable. Elle possède les caracteristiques de sa catégorie, Malte grillé, caramel et une légère amertume pour donner au tout un juste équilibre.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is a heavily roasted, malty stout. This beer is definitely a meal, one where you don't need dessert.
