COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Belgian Style Yeti is a delicious new blend of brewing techniques - all the malt-driven roastiness of our Yeti Imperial Stout with characteristic spice and fruit notes imparted by our special Belgian yeast strain. Belgian Style Yeti is a one-of-a-kind beer as mysterious as the mythical creature himself. Impossible? See for yourself, youíll be a believer, too.

22 oz bottle into a tulip. From yesterday. A: Pours a nearly pitch black color with a LOT of sediment at the bottom of the glass. A mocha shaded head thatís one finger high crowns the body. It retains acceptably (Iíve seen better, though) with little lacing left behind. S: Lots of dark chocolate. Wow. As brilliantly chocolaty as it is, itís backed up by many other rock-solid notes, like dark fruit, roast, and savory malt. Not a hint of alcohol anywhere. This smells absolutely fantastic. T: At first, the chocolate notes are divine. They really are. A midtaste of subtle fruit turns into a roasty finish helping to balance all of that dark chocolate flavor. Hops are negligible, expected given its age. After several ounces, though, it seems to take a turn for the worse. The bread notes from the yeast combine with a budding leathery flavor to make the brew slightly undesirable after a long period of resting. Iíd give it a lower score, but the first few ounces were easily a 4.5 - so rather than downrate it horribly, Iíd say just share it with a few people instead. Problem solved. M: This is where Iím most let down. Instead of the luscious, full creaminess of regular Yeti, it feels thin and somewhat insubstantial. Itís adequately soft, sure, but in no way supports the flavors sufficiently enough. For something that isnít superbly drinkable, it should feel more decadent. O: Like the other Yeti variants, this is absolutely a quality brew. But after a while, the aftertaste kills it for me - which is a damn shame, because everything else about the flavors are fantastic. The weak body doesnít help. A great one to share, but probably my least favorite Yeti.

Roasted malt aroma. Very dark brown head. Black body. Roasted toffee taste with a heavy hoppy after taste, hints if coffee and barley.

Pour is black with a small amount of milky brown head. Nose has a light roast, hints of licorice and tobacco, and fruity esters. Taste has a bit more malt, light roast, some rich milk chocolate, a bit of sweet fruitiness in back. The Belgian yeast doesnít really make a huge impact. May add some fruitier notes not typically in an imperial stout. It isnít a sugary malt or a dark berry. Seems well attenuated, clean, full bodied, and moderate carbonation.

65 cl bottle @ PBF IX.
Pours pitch black color with a nice large beige head. Roasted malts and some faint yeast notes on the aroma, some chocolate, cocoa, and some faint ashy notes. Roasted malty flavor, some chocolate, cocoa, some wooden notes and mild yeasty spiciness. Iíd rather drink my Yeti without the belgian elements (though they are very faint here). Very nice anyway.

Bottled 650ml (BBE 2012, PBF IX)
Dark opaque color, brown head. Sticky toasted, some "vintage" cardboardish notes. Full-bodied. Sticky, toasted, vanilla, caramel. Belgian yeastyness gives some fruityness. Normal Yeti is better.

Aroma has cocoa and some dark chocolate. Feels sweet. Flavour has soy sauce, salty licorice, dark chocolate and cocoa. The belgian sourness tries to ruin the Yeti here.

Pours black almost oil like with same type of viscosity and tan head. Cocoa, roasted malt, and some dark fruit notes on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied this will leave you satisfied.
