Belgian Style Yeti is a delicious new blend of brewing techniques - all the malt-driven roastiness of our Yeti Imperial Stout with characteristic spice and fruit notes imparted by our special Belgian yeast strain. Belgian Style Yeti is a one-of-a-kind beer as mysterious as the mythical creature himself. Impossible? See for yourself, youll be a believer, too.

Tap @ the brewery. Pours a pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, and slight Belgian. Taste of the same with a bit more Belgian coming through on the front end and the back end. This full bodied brew is well balanced and quite tasty. Nice job.

Bottle, forgotten in my cellar for too long. Pours a very dark brown beer with a big beige tanned head on top. Aroma has massive chocolate, caramel and slight roasted malts. Flavor is very sweet, loads of chocolate and dark fruits in there. Belgian yeast is present in the mouthfeel, giving it a nice, light sticky feel just like Belgian strong ales do. Long, sweet aftertaste, mouthfeel is silky and low carbonation. Very nice impy.

Bottle, 2012 vintage. Thick black pour with a nice layer of mocha coloured head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, anise, and nuts. Taste is roasted malts, coffee, followed by light caramel sweetness, finish is smooth with a bit of roast, mouthfeel is thick, carbonation is medium. Very tasty, another solid offering for the yeti series.

Any Yeti-based beer is obviously going to be very good, but there isnt much Belgian character here and frankly this addition to the lineup seems a bit unnecessary. It just comes across as a lighter Yeti. Ill give them credit for masking the alcohol very well and producing a smooth and drinkable imperial stout, but it seems a bit unremarkable compared to the other Yeti brethren.

"Awesome!!! Where chocolate yeti came up just a little bit short, this one did not. not very belgian right out of the gate. maybe that will change over time, but the chocolate roastiness of this beer is simply out of this world. the hops seemed to be toned down to the point that i question if this has the same ibus as original yeti. velvety smooth, no heat, and deeeelicious. if i really wanted a belgian id be disappointed, but as a stout - just amazing. THIS is what i wanted ommegang chocolate indulgence to be, and indulgent is the word that best descibes this beer. chocolate up front in the nose and flavor with a hint of fruity belgian yeast and spice only as it warms, and even then, pretty subtle. more sweet than bitter. one of smoother stouts ive ever had. 2012 - had 2 or 3 and it has not aged well. chocolate goes bye bye and yeast gets a little funky. not nearly as good as when fresh
