3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at exit 6. Aroma delivers what it promises (oak, chocolate) but it could be stronger. Also I am getting some malt and wheat/grassy/earthy aroma. Looks great. Pitch black with thin brown clingy head. Tastes roasty, hoppy (but not as much as other yetis) with a great oaky chocolatey aftertaste. Palate is thick enough, a little too carbonated. Alcohol is well hidden, overall very well crafted.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep pitch black coloured body with a very oily touch on top and a nice large three centimetre tall rich brown head. Aroma of rich chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, oak, prunes, raisins, alcohol and quite a bit more chocolate. Very full-bodied; Super strong chocolate, alcohol and roasted malt notes throughout with some vanilla, oak, raisins and earthiness noticeable. Aftertaste shows a little smoke and mushroom flavour with a lot of roasted malt, tons of caramelised sugars and a good oak and earthiness. Overall, a very nice imperial stout with a lot of chocolate flavours and a very nice yet somewhat subtle oakiness that makes the flavour a bit dry. A great deal of complexity and of course, a lot of alcohol throughout. I sampled this 65 cL bottle direct from the source at the brewpub in Denver, Colorado on 07-June-2014 sampled after hockey on 09-July-2014.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Loads of vanilla, coffee, chocolate and malt on the nose. The palate follows through with the same except there is a lot of bitterness. I would have rated it higher if it had just a bit more sweetness. Good beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle. Iíve had this at the brewery multiple times, but Iím finally sitting down this evening to reflect on this great beer that Iíve admittedly overlooked at times.
Pours a dense black with one inch of lasting tan head that settles to an uneven wisp and uneven lacing. Light only barely passes on the edge of the glass, with a slight hint of ruby hues displayed. Aroma is chocolate malt, slight oak and vanilla, and a hint of cayenne heat. Flavor is roasted malt, spicy notes (spicier than I remember it being!), oak complexity, and a sweet chocolaty finish. Alcohol is well-masked with the full flavor. Medium to full bodied, with moderate carbonation.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at the Syb Pig. Snifter. Pours black with a dark tan head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, cocoa nibs, cayenne, and roasted malts. Taste is similar with the sweeter chocolate first and then the chilis coming through at the finish. Nothing overwhelming...just subtle. Thick and creamy. Also finishes with a little vanilla. Full body and moderate carbonation. Good beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black with a lasting brown head. Light aroma of malt. Nice taste of malt and bitter chocolate. I feel like it's too bitter for the palate

A very nice imperial. Dark brown pour. Roasted malt and chocolate nose. Medium mouthfeel but a touch over carbonated. Flavor profile matches aroma with a hint of barrel aging. Nicely done.

Taste of rich dark plain chocolate, soft spicy, very rich dark malts, soft savoury, mellow mellow roast, oh so smooth, very complex, massive malts, huge chocolate, slight wood, phenomenal
Palate - Soft carb, full body, very rich mouthfeel, fairly sweet palate. Finish is smooth, rich, long lingering tail of those fantastic chocolate rich deep malts

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
22oz bottle, silver foil. Pours like an old motor oil. Thick. Hot chocolate colored foam. Scent of burnt malts, cocoa, wood, some light alcohol. Smells thick. Flavors of roasted barley, coffee-like characters, wood, vanilla bean, tannin bitterness. Loads of cocoa & chocolate malts, under the black patent. Very heavy bodied, thick & syrupy. You could make 10 beers with the amount of hearty wort to make this beer. Full flavored. (4107)
