We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. A Yeti for summer? Hell yes.

DELICIOUS!!! Pours a dark chocolate brown with a nice thick brown lacing head. Aroma fills the nostrils with the nice smell of chocolate. Very dry beer with a malty start. Nice oak finish with a tingling aftermath that is hard to explain. VERY GOOD BEER>\

Black pour with a two finger, creamy to soapy brown head that has great retention and leaves some pretty nice lacing. Aroma is roast, dark chocolate, oily toasted grain, slightly burnt chocolate chip cookies, roasted nuts and cooked dark fruits. Flavor is milk chocolate, roast, toffee, earth, dried dark fruit, light, fruity and earthy vegetal notes (the cayenne, maybe), a touch of smoke, dry licorice and a hint of husky grain. Heavy body, creamy, oily and syrupy feel, medium carbonation, moderate boozy warmth. Really good stuff overall.

Huge chocolate aroma from freshly opened bottle. Loved that initial aroma. Not as prominent after pouring. Pitch black pour, froathy lasting tan head. Good lacing. Extremely smooth and velvet mouth feel. Thought it was going to be a bit bigger body wise but still very pleasing. Could have used more chocolate. That initial smell had me craving a deep rich chocolate flavor that wasnít delivered. Drank this as a dessert beer and didnít quite meet my needs for something sweet. Fairly balanced with a little more bitter than i was looking for. Had an earthly quality to it making it a bit savory imo. A nice chili pepper flavor comes through on the finish though that i appreciated very much. Unique but not something that leaves me wanting another...

Bottled Apr. 2 2014. Pours black with a thin, dark tan head. Aroma has smooth roasted malts, dark chocolate, mild oak, and slight caramel. Taste is balanced. Dark malts, dark chocolate, cacao shells, caramel, and a mildly warm chili aftertaste in the throat. Medium-full body with a low carbonation. Oily/creamy texture with a dry finish. Overall interesting. Dark chocolate, fibery shells, and slight chili.

10oz tulip on tap. Minneapolis. Pours dark black. Brown head. Aroma is heavy in chocolate. Alcohol. A little oaky. Taste is chocolate bitter. A little sweetness underneath. Body is full. Soft carbonation. Velvety mouthfeel. Long finish. Pretty decent. A little one dimensional.

1pt 6fl oz bottle. Pours a glugulous black with a thin dark cocoa coloured head. Molasses, raisins, brandy, dried fruit, vanilla, caramel, and light citrus on the nose. Taste wise, LOTS of molasses, brandy notes, medium heat, a light hit of chili powder, and dried fruits that lead into more molasses with some very strong espresso notes, light ash, roasty malt, and some heat and decent bitterness in the super long finish. Not disappointing by any means, but Iím picking up ZERO chocolate, and the only oak Iím getting is in the nose. Go with the original Yeti, and have your face blown off.

Rating from 2010 bottle, drank in jan 2012. Aroma is pretty much mostly aloooot of dark chocolate. Apperance.: pitch black, with a medium head. Taste: When its cold, itís a bit fizzy and a little chocolate. With temperature you feel the oak-aging, and a great cayenne aftertaste gets obvious. Overall, it doesnít get much better than this. Its a great beer hands down. Although the 2012 bottle was levels below then 2010, so i donít know if there is alot of quality differences between the years?

Bomber bottle poured a black hue with a huge creamy lasting tan head and sticky lacing. Bold sweet roasty chocolate aromas. Initial flavor is moderate sweet with a moderate bitter finish. Tastes are strong bold roast, coca nibs, dark chocolate, vanilla and rum. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel, and some warmth in the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A bit fruity and coffee like aroma, much more clearer oak than the espresso version, a bit aggressive espresso chocolate like aroma with a clear plum apricot fruitiness.
