We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. A Yeti for summer? Hell yes.

Pours nearly pitch black with a tiny bit of red getting through on the edges, and a bubbly mocha head. Dark bitter chocolate on the nose, hints of oak and coffee, roasted malts and a touch of vanilla. Great taste, lots of oak up front, there’s a good bit of earthy bitter chocolate, lots of roasted malt and a bit of vanilla. Very well balanced, maybe my favorite of the Yetis.

650ml bottle enjoyed @ home. Pours pitch black with a decent beige head. Aroma is very pleasant with chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, oak, vanilla and a hint of dates and plums. Flavour is medium sweet and medium bitter. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation. Finish is woody, bitter coffee and chocolate.

Pours a rich dark black/brown with a tar colored head with lacings. The aroma a rich roasted malt and coco. The flavor carries a huge chocolate/coco flavor without the sweetness. The malt notes are roasted with a burnt finish. The body is full to medium-full with a satisfying linger in the palette. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, black and thick beer, big dark khaki head fades, decent lace. Aroma coffee, vanilla, plum, oak, molasses. Taste is coffee and chocolate chip cookies, vanilla, molasses. A little sweet, but huge roasty chocolate cookies. Palate is super rich, carbonation nicely subdued. Cranking this rate. So roasty, so huge, so deep!

Pitch black with a thick brown head fading into a good lace and veil. Chocolate liquor, vanilla and sweet chai spices comes through in the aromas. Rich, velvety palate, low carbonation, almost full bodied, loads of cocoa flavors, multi-layered with ligt spices in the end. Alcohol is so well hidden here. Delicious impy stout.

Into a taser showing pitch black with sparse coffee brown foam. The nose shows a lot of good roasted coffee notes. The palate is light bodied, foamy, smooth, with a strong coffee tartness. Coffee bitterness with a roasted smoky note on the linger. Slight oak permeates throughout the palate but it seems slightly too light for a stout.

bottle @ home. 2010 vintage. Pours a black liquid with a stable medium sized, light brown head and good lacing. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, vanilla, cream, cocoa, red and dark fruits. moderate vinous notes with raisins. Balanced chocolate bitterness, impressively dry finish with lingering ash, licorice, chocolate and oak. Long lasting aftertaste with chili & cocoa.
