We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. A Yeti for summer? Hell yes.

Pours black with tan head. Smells of booze, chocolate, and fresh cut wood. The flavor is bitter with notes of both coffee and chocolate. Mouthfeel has the viscosity of oil. Didnít pick up any heat until it got much warmer. Very good, not great.

22 oz bottle shared by Spencer. 2015 vintage. The pour is a thinner light black with a thick dark khaki head and some great lacing. The aroma is heavy on chocolate malts and bitter roast. There is a nice oakiness and there is a pretty strong booziness. The flavor is definitely full of bitter chocolate malts. There is a nice roast, but it's pretty plain and the oak doesn't really show up. The mouth feel is thin and light with not a lot of carbonation, and a lingeringly chocolatey bitter aftertaste ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, oak and cocoa. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long chocolate, coffee and cocoa. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

A- pours a deep syrupy brown with a finger of mocha mahogany head that thins to nothing. S- lots of dark chocolates, mocha, coca, cherry, roasted malts and charcoal up front. Some vanilla and licorice nuances. Cayenne is faint but perceptible. Tobacco. Earth and chalk contribute to an overall arid characteristic. M- medium to full dry creamy body with some chewiness. Virtually no carb. T- not as appealing as the aroma. Almost watery throughout with a really dry and bitter end that showcases the hops exclusively with a little pepper. Early in here is the bakers chocolate, coffee grounds, charred steak and earth. Middle has vanilla and oak with some tobacco, crackers and dry grass. Some cordial. Not overwhelming but a good almost summer brew.

Draft at Good Dog. Opaque pour with a light brown head that left lace. Deep but temperamental chocolate flavors. Semi-sweet cocoa mixed with Ambesol. Coffee grounds. Good amount of khaki lace. Strong charcoal grill flavors. Smores. Dry ginger root. Bright chocolate liquorice. Browned banana. Black peppercorns. Nice expansive beer. Betters expectations.

Bottle. Pours a thick black with a half-inch mocha head. Strong aromas of cocoa and roasted malts, some alcohol after it warms. Tastes similar: cocoa, bitter chocolate, roasted malts; the roasted malts lingering in the finish. Moderately bitter. Full bodied and thick; soft carbonation; bitter finish. Iím really enjoying it alongside an extra sharp cheddar (Tillamook).

Bottle (22oz $9.50): Black with one finger brown head. Aroma still has the coffee of the regular Yeti. Taste is still more coffee than chocolate. Somewhat bitter. Full bodied. Good but too much coffe for me.

It pours black with no much head. It has aromas of chocolate, oak, and licorice. There is plenty of cocoa and chocolate flavors with oak on the palate. The carbonation is lively. A touch of vanilla is in the flavor as well.

Big, thick, full bodied stout. Heavy roasted coffee, dark cacao. Sweet oaky vanilla. Nice balance with a good amount of earthy hops. Bit of alcohol. Very nice !

As usual a black body with a big beige head. Looks good. Coffee and rich chocolate in the nose. Full body. Tad sweet and an ok bitterness. Soft carbonation. Oak, chocolate and coffee in the flavor. Hmmm I just did not fancy this one to much. It was light in an unusual way. The flavor disappeared to fast. Normally it hangs around in my mouth for a long time and keep on growing.

Pours thick and black as midnight. The head is huge, foamy, and a maroon/brown color. The aroma is bakerís chocolate, caramel, booze... it isnít distinctly different from the espresso oak aged version of Yeti, and thatís not a bad thing at all. Like the espresso version, this one is sweet and rich up front, but not sweet enough to make me tired of it. And that familiar, bitter explosion at the end is there in all itís glory. My palate isnít discerning enough to tell a lot of difference between this and Espresso Oak Aged Yeti, but I love them both. No complaints. Great Divide just keeps hitting the bullís eye.
