COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. A Yeti for summer? Hell yes.

My GF ordered this on tap and asked me to try it and I pretty much drank all of her beer (I bought her another one though, I;m not a monster.) Pours dark chocolate color with a tan head that hangs around. Smells wonderful. Chocolate, coffee with a hint of sweetness. Tastes- This is where the beer stands out. A lot of chocolate stouts are overly bitter and taste more like coffee than chocolate. This beer brings just the right amount of sweetness. Chocolate and coffee are right up front but there is a hint of vanilla that adds just the right amount of sweetness. Supposedly there is some cayenne powder in there but I didn’t get it which is fine by me. Mouthfeel- Smooth and thick. Overall- Best chocolate stout I’ve had and one of the best stouts I’ve had in general. Try it if you see it and you will be pleased.

Bottle. 2013 vintage. Thick motor oil pour, stuff looks like chewy molasses, with a beautiful layer milk chocolate head, this stuff looks amazing in a glass. Aroma, sweet Jesus, the chocolate jumps out at you for sure, roasted malts, a hint spice, fuck yea. Taste is milk chocolate, thick mouthfeel, roasted malts, light spice, silky smooth finish with a bitter aftertaste that lingers. Well it’s damn good, rich, smooth, balanced, the chocolate adds but doesn’t dominate. Very very good.

650ml brown bottle with a foil sealed top, poured into a snifter glass. Appearance is opaque brownish black with a medium sized thick brown head with good retention. Aroma of rye sourdough bread, dark chocolate, vanilla and muscovado. Flavours of dark chocolate, vanilla, raisins, muscovado, roasted malts and some oak wood notes. Taste is light-medium sweet and medium bitter. Palate is full bodied, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Great Divide Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti is excellent overall, not overly sweet it has the character of bitter dark chocolate, also some heat from the cayenne.

Flaska från Systembolaget - doftar som en vanlig yeti fast med lite smygande chokladtoner. Mörk som natten med brunt skum. Tydliga brända toner likt en vanlig yeti men trevliga chokladtoner.

On tap. Pours a deep brown, with a moderate tan head which lasts and leaves good lacing. Nose is cocoa and oak, and the taste is similar, with cocoa predominant, but notes of vanilla arise toward the finish. Very smooth, well-balanced. Just a touch of semi-sweet chocolate bitterness. Delicious.

Pours a very dark brown, small foamy brown head. Aroma was very nice with coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and woody notes. Taste was pretty close to the nose with the oak coming out and just a faint hint of the pepper. Very good beer and well done.
