We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. A Yeti for summer? Hell yes.

Finished up a tasting recently with this brew. Ended up splitting the bottle three ways into snifters. The brew had a finger worth of dark coco colored head sitting on top of a black bodied brew. The head laced perfectly in the glass, it’s a beautiful stout. You get a great amount of coco nibs coming at you in the nose. I didn’t get much in the way of wood or barrel at all I even asked another Geek with me and he couldn’t pull any either I think the coco is just that strong. The flavor was perfect for a chocolate stout. This one is done right. The brew wasn’t sweet milk chocolaty but reminded me of a good piece of dark chocolate with a little pepper spice thrown in. It had a great mouthfeel to it thick and coating on the tongue. I enjoyed this brew and after a few sips I sparked a good cigar (JDN Antano dark Corojo) to go with it and this brew just worked perfectly with it. Serving type: bottle

Pours a dark mahogany brown with fluffy tan head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, and some woody notes. Flavors of bitter chocolate and some astringent chocolate.

Black color, dark beige head. Aroma of cacao, chocolate, dark roasted malt and wood. Taste of chocolate and a slight tingly heat from the cayenne. The sweet malt and robust, bitter cacao creates a very balanced taste with a dark roast finish that lingers on forever. Love it.

On draft in Kittery, ME. Reminded me of cocoa powder -- there’s a rich, chocolate flavor that is pretty pronounced, and there’s also a distinct and pleasant dryness at the end. Much better than the base Yeti.

A subdued aroma of smoked malt, pours a dark black color with a lasting well laced tan head. An oily feel with a smokey chocolate malt taste. A very bitter finish.

On tap at Barleys (SC). Black body with a fine creamy tan head that has moderate retention. Aroma of barrel aging and dark roasted grains with faint chocolate. Rich, well balanced flavor with excellent use of oak aging. Smooth, very full feel with lively carbonation.

Hop forward for a stout. Just like the regular yeti on the nose but adds a nice background chocolate note to the yeti goodness. The chocolate is there but definitely not upfront. Favorite part of this for me was the creamy smooth mouthfeel. A nice subtle variation of a stellar stout. If your looking for a desert beer this isn't it since the hops dominate the sweetness but a great offering nonetheless. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
