4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
I’m a little surprised that this isn’t getting higher ratings. Drinking this at room temp (70 F) from a 22oz, maybe that’s the difference. Flavors are unique and dominate but blend well. Very complex. Soft chocolate up front, with dominating oak throughout. Subtle warming from the cayenne on the finish. I really could go on and on. This is a very complex beer with lots to chat about. Highly recommend it in a snifter @ room temp.

Bottle shared with Jonathan, non-Rate Beer. Black beverage with brown foam that quickly disappears. Slight aroma of smoke and cocoa. Slightly oily mouthfeel and flavor of vanilla, cocoa and lightly roasted coffee.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled on tap at the SideDoor gastropub in Chicago. Very dark, almost balck, with a cream-coloured head. Aromas of choclate, and a huge milk chocolate hit when tasted. Very malty, with lots of roasted malt, coffee and (predominantly) chocolate flavours. This is a very dry tasting beer with a long, bitter finish with hints of ash. Difficult to drink much of this - it is so heavy on the palette and dry. Should be served in something the size of a demi-tasse. i would like to try the non-chocolate version.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle to glass. Been in the bottle for a bit. Pours a pitch black color with a creamy medium brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, burnt chocolate, light coffee character. Flavor has a lot of burnt roasted malts, bitter chocolate, not much oak character if any, maybe because its been in the bottle too long. Medium body with a lingering burnt roasted malts. Decent. But probably much better fresh.

From botlle, black pour with small beige head and moderate lacing. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is the same, with a gentle bitterness and a medium full mouthfeel. Smooth and very nice.

Bottle. Dark chocolate on all levels, a little dry across the palate, just a hint of booze, it tastes like I imagine it?s like to lick a oak tree. Aromas ate molasses, cocoa, oak, dates, booze, smoke, a little hoppyness and ash at the end.

Favorite chocolate beer I’ve had to date. Dark black with a purple head. Taste slightly bitter dark chocolate with a sweet, pleasant finish.

As the name implies, it's a lot like yeti, which is a good thing, but with more chocolate, which wasn't really an improvement in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, this is a great beer, but I just think the original Yeti is better.

Bomber bottle. Aroma is a little roasty, alcohol evident in the nose. Jet black, and opaque with nice light brown head that quickly dissipates. Wonderful taste! A touch sweet. Notice the wood aging, but it’s not in your face and is very nicely balanced. I love how all of the flavors combine perfectly. Notice the cayenne in just a touch of heat and tingling in aftertaste. Overall, a terrific imperial stout!
