COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. A Yeti for summer? Hell yes.

Too much of a good thing. You’d think the chocolate added to a fine, upper echelon beer like the original Yeti would be a slam dunk. But it’s not. Chocolate interferes with the taste, and a fine beer loses value. Stick with the original, which is almost unbeatable.

Flaska köpt på Systembolaget Garnisonen. Doften är fylld av choklad, tonerna går åt mjölkchokladhållet. Smaken går i samma tecken, alkoholen märks inte alls. Kroppen är tunnare än väntat. Fin! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled date of 03.19.14. Poured into a tulip on 05.30.14. A: Midnight black with no red. 3 finger brown head that retains well and looks like pudding. S: Vanilla, cocoa, espresso, oak. T: Oak woodiness dominates. Cayenne pepper and chocolate are subtle. M: Creamy. O: The oak was way overdone in this one. The cayenne pepper was strange and did not go well at all with the rest. At 9.50% ABV, this did not need any more heat. The chocolate base was good, but was barely there. This was completely unbalanced, so it went down the drain. I couldn’t get the awful taste out of my mouth.

Bomber bottle at Craig’s house. What a choice for after dinner on a cold night. It has it all, flavors of chocolate combined with a rich malt and warming alcohol.

Bottle shared with Jonathan, non-Rate Beer. Black beverage with brown foam that quickly disappears. Slight aroma of smoke and cocoa. Slightly oily mouthfeel and flavor of vanilla, cocoa and lightly roasted coffee.

Sampled on tap at the SideDoor gastropub in Chicago. Very dark, almost balck, with a cream-coloured head. Aromas of choclate, and a huge milk chocolate hit when tasted. Very malty, with lots of roasted malt, coffee and (predominantly) chocolate flavours. This is a very dry tasting beer with a long, bitter finish with hints of ash. Difficult to drink much of this - it is so heavy on the palette and dry. Should be served in something the size of a demi-tasse. i would like to try the non-chocolate version.

Bottle to glass. Been in the bottle for a bit. Pours a pitch black color with a creamy medium brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, burnt chocolate, light coffee character. Flavor has a lot of burnt roasted malts, bitter chocolate, not much oak character if any, maybe because its been in the bottle too long. Medium body with a lingering burnt roasted malts. Decent. But probably much better fresh.
