COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named for a medieval Scottish sword, Claymore Scotch ale is a tribute to the legendary "Wee Heavy" beers of Scotland. A malty, deep-ruby-hued ale, it features a generous amount of caramel sweetness, a reserved hop profile and a subtle warming character, at 7.7% alcohol by volume. Claymore will be available in six-packs and on draft through mid-April.

Pours dark brown, with a creamy tan head. Aroma of malts and sugars. Taste is sweet, smooth, and very drinkable. A very nice scotch ale. Thumbs up!.

Smells a little like malt. Looks a little too dark for a scotch. Tastes a little too much like chocolate for a scotch. Body is a little too heavy for a scotch. It’s kinda like a porter/scotch hybrid. It’s not bad, but it’s not as easy drinking as a scotch should be.

Aroma is malty, chocolates, assorted nuts and wee sour. Taste is sweet and malty, mild chocolates, syrup and brown sugar. Pretty standard scotch ale.

Opaque deep mahogany, light white head. Vanilla, molasses, light hay. Good amount of bitter tang, big sweet body. Heavy, oily, coats the palate. Not a ton of carbonation. Long finish. Quite good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at POUR on Center (6/14/15). Malty and alcoholic vapor, musky and a little damp. Dark coppery-brown clear with thin head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Nice sweet alcoholic flavor, malty. Earthy light bitter finish with sweet-bitter after.

Had on tape at Pizzeria Pezzo in White Bear Lake, MN. Very solid Scotch ale - normally would have skipped this, but glad I tried it. Would look for it again

Clear, dark mahogny colored beer with a thin, beige, head. No lacing on the glass.

Nose: This smell! Well, it’s not a nice one... Like an old worn shoe. Nuts, coffee grain, leather, milk and roasted malt. I’m getting more and better nose as the beer warms up. Maybe I shold have this beer warmer?
Taste: Roasted malt, Caramel, dark syrup, vanilla, brown sugar and molasses. I must say I liked the taste a lot more than the nose!
Mouthfeel: Medium body. Light, fizzy, carbonation. Sweet ending.
