COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named for a medieval Scottish sword, Claymore Scotch ale is a tribute to the legendary "Wee Heavy" beers of Scotland. A malty, deep-ruby-hued ale, it features a generous amount of caramel sweetness, a reserved hop profile and a subtle warming character, at 7.7% alcohol by volume. Claymore will be available in six-packs and on draft through mid-April.

16z oz draft pours medium brown with a fluffy white head. Caramel and chocolate aromas. Slightly sweet with a bit of smoke, alot of chocolate, caramel and toffee. Medium body that goes down very easily. Not bad.

12oz bottle. Pours dark mahogany with a small tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, light chocolate, toffee, and a bit of fruit. Flavors are a bit smokey, chocolate, sweet roasted malts, and a touch of bitterness. Palate could have a bit more going on. Decent beer, nothing to go crazy over. Not worth the $12 a sixer they charge IMO.

on tap at The Brick Store Pub, Decatur, GA. excellent appearance, dark dark brown with a nice quarter inch white creamy head. some sweet malts on the nose... medium body, somewhat of an average Scotch Ale... nothing really crazy about this one... but solid (as Great Divide continues to be - solid and often extraordinary). A bit of caramel, some dark fruits and a bit of roasted malts. Eventually I’ll pick up a six pack of this....

Draft @ Capone’s: Poured a dark brown-black. The aroma was roasted malts and batteries. The flavor was good, malty, chocolates, and licorice. Overall, an easy drinker, but really a Scottish?

Looks just like a porter, or weak imperial stout, so it looks nice for a scotch ale. Huge roast aroma that smells really good. Nice malt follow up on this beer. This beer has a nice apperance and a nice aroma as well. Nice smooth palate, but not a great palate. Huge roast and malt taste, but this isn’t the best scotch ale that I have tried. The apperance and the aroma are above average, but below average, or just average with the taste/flavor and the palate.

Bottle. Poured red-black with foamy head. Peaty and malty aroma. Malt, full bodied with caramel overtones. Lasting malt finish with a tinge of bitterness. Worth seeking out.

12oz bottle. Opaque brown-black color. Light nicely solid but thin head. Sweet and malty and pretty true to the Wee Heavy style. Deep malt tones not unlike a dopplebock at times, quite rich. Smooth and drinkable, the alcohol is well hidden. I’m not a huge Great Divide fan, but this is spot on for the style.

Pours deep mahogany into a Thistle. Mocha micro head with excellent retention recedes to coat surface leaving sheet lacing. Smoked chocolate and licorice aromas. Thin and smooth with smoked dark caramel upfront and a licorice finish.

Pours dark brown, black in the glass with some light coming through around the edges. Has a medium cream-colored head. Smells of caramel, molasses, apple, plum and a little bit of pine. Medium-thick, velvety, somewhat sticky body. Flavor much like the aroma, tons of malt. Cloyingly sweet, with just a little bitter aftertaste.
