COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named for a medieval Scottish sword, Claymore Scotch ale is a tribute to the legendary "Wee Heavy" beers of Scotland. A malty, deep-ruby-hued ale, it features a generous amount of caramel sweetness, a reserved hop profile and a subtle warming character, at 7.7% alcohol by volume. Claymore will be available in six-packs and on draft through mid-April.

Awesome scotch ale; strong, dark, and malty! Slightly sweet and roasted malt with chocolate and caramel finish. Very good!

Brown colored beer with a frothy lasting beige big head. Malt, chocolate and roasted caramel aromas. Flavor is sweet with chocolate bitterness and alcohol notes. End is dry and body is oily with low carbonation.

Aroma is Rusty metal. Alkali. Salt water. Appearance: black, but not deep. Some lacing, but no head.Taste: plum, charcoal, leather. Pepper. Very Malty. Almost a hint of a whiskey burn at the end. Warming. This beer is growing on me.Feel: carbonation "looks" medium-low ,but the is some nice sizzle. As Don Ho would say, "tiny bubbles".Nice rally, Great Divide.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep, dark, chestnut brown, medium off-white head with decent retention and lacing. Nose is malty, toffee, some dried fruit, brown sugar, honey, hay. Mouth is medium bodied, creamy, big caramelness, malty sweet, raisins, dates, toast, nuttiness. Would be right proper with a roasted joint and some tatties. Solid wee-heavy. As a MacGregor would say: Rioghal mo dhream!

Pours dark brown with a small fizzy head that disappears quickly. Strong malt aromas with brown sugar and caramel. Tastes sweet with layers of malt complexity. Rich caramel, slightly smoky, nutty, and mild sweet chocolate. Very subtle hops, but enough to prevent this from overwhelming you with sweetness. Finishes clean with no bitterness. A very rich brew that should be savored.

Bottle: This is very nice...sweet malty body, but balanced out by 7.7% worth of alcohol. Great example of how the alcohol of beer can be used to balance it out... This isn’t the best scotch ale I can remember having, but it’s certainly pretty damn good.

malt, alcohol, scotch, a little bitter but fairly roasty and heavy. Malt, caramel, bread, a little earthy. Rich.

Dark cola colour with small non-persistent beige head. Aroma is sweet dark malts, dark chocolate, light peat. Taste is quite similar to an imperial porter but with a very light peat - dark chocolate, dark fruits, light peated whisky. Quite sweet, medium bodied and sticky. Quite good.

Rich deep brown. Nose is caramel malts, light smokiness. Malt driven with lightly burnt caramel/toffee, tingly, light smoke, dark wildflower honey. Really well done scotch ale. Don’t understand why this is in the summer line up. Awesome fall beer here...should bump Hibernation later into winter and push this back to fall.
