Bottle. Pours deeper amber/brown with a small caramel colored head. Aromas of candied fruit, plum, sugar, light booze, and some smoke. The flavor is much of the same but sticky and full. What a easy drinking beer for the abv count! Awesome brew

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark brown with minimal head and no lacing. Has that distinctive Scottish malting, caramel and roasted grains but the body is lighter, carbonation higher and a little hoppier than most. A nice variation.

Dark ruby color with a tan head. Highly carbonated with a roasted malts/smokey flavor. Well done for the style, but not my preferred style of beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from the bottle a dark ruby brown with very slight beige head and no lacing. Slight caramel malty aroma. Taste is sweet and malty. No noticeable hops. Almost flat with little carbonation. Flavor is good and definitely worth trying again, but this was not as good as I hoped.

Tasted from a 12oz brown bottle into a snifter, thanks gregwilsonstl. It poured a hazy dark copper colour with thin but lasting head of beige bubbles, scattered lacing. Faint aromas of grain, caramelized brown sugar, alcohol, burnt toast, roasted barley. Malty flavours with balanced marmalady hops, some sticky sweetness, faint fruity esters. Medium body and carbonation, boozy, lasting malty aftertaste. Good not great.

Rock solid example of a "Wee Heavy". Toasty, nutty and slightly peaty on the nose. Like a warm sweater coating the palate. Rich, dark and caramel sweetness through the finish. I’d love to pair this beer with an Elk Public House Reuben or a Chile Verde Chicken soup.

Opaque dark brown beer with a small bubbly tan head. Smooth palate with light fine carbonation. Light and sweetish dark malts. Little lactose and tang, Mellow dark fruits underneath. Whisper of something a little spicy. Finishes light and semi dry. Decent.
