Our homage to the beers that have quenched the thirst of Belgian farm workers for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Saison is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treatsĖa beer as refreshing as it is complex. 7.3% ABV.

Lemon and floral notes with some clove. This is an OK saison but unremarkable.

Cloudy gold color (looks like piss). Lots of carbonation, large white head that leaves an ok lacing. Strong yeasty bread smell, but also slightly fruity which makes it smell somewhat refreshing. Tastes of sweet ripe banana and bread. Very lite tasting for a higher gravity. Cheap enough that I would by this again pretty good beer try it. $7 a six pack

This is a beer with allot going on and each component working together. The nose is big and fruity with a large amount of esters. Notes of unripe peach, pear, apple cider vinegar, white pepper, rosemary, honey, and dried flowers engage the palate while the spritzy carbonation washes away what would be an overwhelming amount of flavor and leaving a satisfyingly dry, and slightly tart finish.

Pours hazy straw with a firm white head that leaves a ton of lacing. Aroma of cider, wheat malt, honey, cloves/phenol. Tart up front, with tons of yeast flavour, honey in the mouthfeel, slightly herbal hops in the finish. Really nice.

From bottle at the Coney. Very mild sweet and spicy wheat nose with a bit of lemon character. Floral. Cloudy pale golden with thin white lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts moderately sweet with wheat, bubblegum, and yeasty notes. Nice saison with lemon notes and a hint of tart character. Belgian wit finish. Tasty.

Bottle, pours hazy pale golden yellow with a medium white head, creamy with nice lacing. Aroma is honey, grass, pepper, tea, yeast. Flavor is the same, light sweet, a bit of lemon-zesty bitterness on the finish, some light grass. Bit of a bite to it, fruity body. Medium body, high carbonation.

Aroma is yeast, white pepper, apple, white peach, white tea. Flavor is apple, white tea, white pepper, yeasty protein, save blanc, cereal. Yeah, I said white a lot. Medium to light body, good carbonation. Very clear appearance, like pale apple juice. The best 6 pack saison I have ever had.

Pours pastel lemon yellow, hazed and subtly aglow. A very light blush if you look hard and a creamy head of white foam that falls fine and leaves lace as you drink. The nose is scrumptious pineapple. Sweet but also tangy. Some earthy yeast and a soft sweet biscuit malt. The re is no alcohol on the nose even though this one has a touch more abv than the usual for the style. Taste is sweet and malty. Surprising maltiness for the style and the body is unique. Itís smooth and creamy. Soft yet crisp. How did they do that? The pineapple is so authentic with a sharp sweetness and a bit of twang. The malt is heavenly biscuit and there is a just a touch of alcohol in the drink. Itís a light medicinal in the finish. Nothing to really offend and hardly even warms. Sweet juicy earthy and finishes dry with a spice.

This beer was a terrific surprise. It has a body that is so much more than you were expecting but doesnít give way to syrup or to heaviness. Itís terribly sweet but has a lightness that seems puzzling. As it warms the spice comes to the nose and really makes this complex.
