Our homage to the beers that have quenched the thirst of Belgian farm workers for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Saison is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treats–a beer as refreshing as it is complex. 7.3% ABV.

(Keg at BrewDog Helsinki, 20150909) The beer poured cloudy and pale orange. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, tartness and spiciness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, spiciness, tartness, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was tart and bitter. A very tart brew to be called as a Saison but still an enjoyable one.

Can. Pale, cloudy banana-yellow with a short-lived head of white. Soft banana, sweet pear and a bit of tart green apple. The flavor replicates this, with the banana/peardrop leading before tangy wheat, apple and alcohol. Finish leans sweet. Body’s a little big and fluffy for the style, and CO2 is low. Misses he mark a bit.

12 oz. can, consumed on 8-30-15. Pours a grainy, hay-like dirty gold with a large amount of cream-colored to light taupe head. Mostly clear with some haze. Very pleasant, floral, grassy, classic saison aroma explodes from the pour. Wheaten, hefeweizen-like flavor but stronger and better than a typical hefeweizen. Vanilla and cinnamon-like wheaten spiciness. Light hoppy dryness in the finish. A touch of booze. Tasty! Medium body. Frothy and smooth. Lively enough in the palate. I’m pleasantly surprised by just how good this is. I shouldn’t be, because Great Divide has been churning out well above average beer for a long time by craft brewing standards. This is an underrated saison here on RateBeer. Refreshing summer beer. The aroma and the flavor on this one are well above par.

Poured from twelve ounce bottle into a pint glass, thank you Danny! Pours a yellow, orange, but very translucent. Has a sour aroma and a sour taste to it, a very well done Saison

Poured from a bottle. Faint banana and a bunch of cereal and wheat in the nose and flavor. Nice grassy notes and grain throughout the course of the beer. Golden hay hue with moderate head and lacing.

foggy yellow, big rocky white head, nose is tart belg yeast, sweet maltose, belg tripel flavor... i understand that nobody in the us wants to fugg with brett in the brew house, but why claim "farmhouse ale"? Seems stupid to me, i mean i know a lot of breweries do this - to the point that i avoid "farmhouse ales" even though I actually love a real, true farmhouse ales. Out of respect for the style, I will slaughter all fake saisons.

Can that pours a cloudy yellow with white head. Traditional farmhouse aroma a little funk a little grassy and a little malty. Flavor has some banana and more of the aromas in it. Basic farmhouse ale nothing to great but not bad either.
