4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma is yeast, white pepper, apple, white peach, white tea.
Flavor is apple, white tea, white pepper, yeasty protein, save blanc, cereal. Yeah, I said white a lot.
Medium to light body, good carbonation.
Very clear appearance, like pale apple juice.
The best 6 pack saison I have ever had.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours pastel lemon yellow, hazed and subtly aglow. A very light blush if you look hard and a creamy head of white foam that falls fine and leaves lace as you drink. The nose is scrumptious pineapple. Sweet but also tangy. Some earthy yeast and a soft sweet biscuit malt. The re is no alcohol on the nose even though this one has a touch more abv than the usual for the style. Taste is sweet and malty. Surprising maltiness for the style and the body is unique. It’s smooth and creamy. Soft yet crisp. How did they do that? The pineapple is so authentic with a sharp sweetness and a bit of twang. The malt is heavenly biscuit and there is a just a touch of alcohol in the drink. It’s a light medicinal in the finish. Nothing to really offend and hardly even warms. Sweet juicy earthy and finishes dry with a spice.
This beer was a terrific surprise. It has a body that is so much more than you were expecting but doesn’t give way to syrup or to heaviness. It’s terribly sweet but has a lightness that seems puzzling. As it warms the spice comes to the nose and really makes this complex.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma: strong Belgian yeast, grain, and spice
Appearance: very mildly cloudy yellow; a classic saison look
Taste: pretty overwhelming yeast flavor. Rather acidic/astringent and sweet simultaneously, although it finishes with a dry, light citrus note
Palate: finish makes an otherwise rather overwhelming flavor of funky yeasts more palatable
Not bad, but not my favorite Saison.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a cloudy yellow with sweet citrus aromas (peach, tangerine). Complex, but there is an astringent note (not tart), that doesn’t work.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle to glass. First time trying a saison. Aroma is grassy and barnyard hay. Some fruity hints too? I could not coax a head, though I poured relatively hard. It pours a very cloudy yellow. Taste is bitter and sour. A slick, somewhat sticky mouthfeel, flat carbonation. Not a fan of the saison.

I keep trying to like the Belgian style beers, but the funky spiciness just doesn’t do it for me. This was more drinkable than the others until it warmed up, then it deteriorated.
