Draft sample. Very malty belgian ale that has a flavor reminiscent of cotton candy. How you can call this a saison I donít know.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
This is an exceptionally flavorful beer, maybe on the sweet and heavy side but definitely very tasty. It is cloudy golden in appearance and it has a decent sized ring of mixed bubbles for a head. It smells of citrus, lilac and banana. This is a full bodied beer and quite thick and oily. This does bring out some juicy citrus tones but overall I think this would be much better were it lighter bodied and more drinkable. Carbonation seems to be moderate but is toned down a bit by the strong sweetness. It finishes w/ a firm citrus rind bitterness which helps bring some balance though. This does have a nice flavor profile overall but I feel like it needs to be toned down a bit to be any better than OK.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy golden beer with a virtually non-existent white head. Pungent nose of preserved lemon, sour yeast, and grains of paradise. Flavor is light and crisp with some green apple, pear, and citrus followed by a heady bitterness. Good saison, not exceptional.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy golden brew with the aroma of citrus and bread. Taste is very sweet and it is sticky, so sticky sweet. Fruit, mild citrus, a tart bite and aftertaste. Very interesting to drink and one of the better Saison beers that I have had. With the amount of yeast sediment in the bottom of the bottle I have to wonder if this was bottle conditioned.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
From the pour it produces a big billowy head of white foam over a hazy golden honey colored body. The haze comes from a fine yeast sediment in the body of the beer. Some of the yeast seems to be pushed up towards the head by the aggressive carbonation. This beer looks to be full of life. The aroma is of floral and spicy almost grassy hops with a pale base of biscuity malt. There is a nice balance of spicy yeast with hints of fruit and biscuity maltiness. This has light sweetness that dries out for a snappy dry finish. The carbonation is lively and the palate is crisp.

Farmhouse Ales are among the most eclectic beers in the world of craft brewing. This style allows brewers to incorporate flavors that you wouldnít always expect. Great Divideís Colette offers a whole lot of variety and complexity thanks to its three malts and four yeast strains. On the nose, Colette is fruity and funky. Aroma isnít huge but itís an early indicator of the Saisonís balance and complexity. Colette makes a great first impression with the smooth, sweet malt tastes of wheat and rice. The wheat element is especially great with notes of citrus, subtle bubblegum, and bread. Yeasty taste takes over in the finish. Unfortunately, I was less enthusiastic about that component. Yeast flavor is certainly earthy but in a way that Iíve never encountered. It was slightly peppery but there was also a strange mineral taste that reminded me of, well, mineral water. I liked that it was a different taste but Iím partial the tart yeast funk of Belgian strains. Still, flavor was damn satisfying. All told, Colette was as complex and refreshing as promised. For Farmhouse Ale that comes from a 12 ounce bottle, Great Divideís offering is hard to beat.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rich hazy golden coloured body with a nice two centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of grass, hay, wheat, yeast and a lot of herbs and spices - very nice and floral as well. Light to Medium-bodied; Grassy and dry herbal flavours dominate the beer with an emphasis on wheat and the strong yeast strain. Aftertaste has a slight sweetness, and perhaps a few noticeable hops, but the flavour is centred around the dry and floral wheat and spice notes that dominate. Overall, a very nice beer and a consistent saison with what youíd expect to drink littered throughout the smell and tastes - definitely worth trying or buying a lot of if you like the style, since iíts available in many places! I sampled this pint on draught at the brewpub in downtown Denver, Colorado with haddon90 on 07-June-2014.
