COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our homage to the beers that have quenched the thirst of Belgian farm workers for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Saison is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treats–a beer as refreshing as it is complex. 7.3% ABV.

Draft - Tart, grassy, lemon and yeast. Pale cloudy yellow with a thin head. Apricot and fruity esters. Sweet and chalky, not my thing.

Caytinator (939) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - MAY 18, 2014
5oz sample at the brewery. Lemon-yellow cloudy beer, no lacing, small head, zesty aroma, just fruit and a little barnyard in it. Nicely done taste--good medium palate, just enough bitterness, more sour than sweet, not very complex but nothing bad in it.

Amber color, aroma of yeast and spices. Malty and wheat flavor, with slightly bitter tart aftertaste. Good representative of farmhouse ales from this brewery.

shorlin (640) - St. John’s, Newfoundland, CANADA - MAY 6, 2014
Initial lemon aroma with a good bit of farmhouse funk to follow. Pour is quite yellow, small white head. Taste is tart lemon, little spice, little funk. Very refreshing, not a long finish. Very good beer.

Fratto (2616) - Arlington, Texas, USA - APR 30, 2014
On tap at Big Texas Beer Fest. Light pour with a small white head. Aroma is lemons, spice, and a little estery. Taste is more yeast spice, kinda sour, dry, and bready.

kramer (4905) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 27, 2014
Bottle. Pours a clear yellow gold body with a small fizzy white head that quickly vanished. The nose is mostly wheat and pale malt with just a light hint of yeastiness and spice. The flavor is a little lacking in complexity, it comes across as a bit heavy on the malt and lacking on yeast influence. Not a whole lot of spiciness or earthiness from the yeast. Lingering sticky pale malt. Light to medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Ok beer I guess, but doesn’t fit with what I’m looking for in a Saison.

rlgk (10368) - Göteborg/Jönköping, SWEDEN - APR 17, 2014
Bottle at the hotel room in San Diego. Hazy yellow/golden beer with a nice offwhite head. Sourish perfume aroma, grassy, spicy, grape fruit notes. Citrus and perfume flavor, grassy, grapefruit, pine, floral, some hay notes. Solid enough saison.

Bottle. Hazy golden yellow with thin white cap. Yeast and citrus (mostly lemon) in the aroma. Slightly tart with a nice clean citrus flavor. A bit of earthy funk as well. Light body, nice crisp carbonation. Nice drinkable saison.

Bif (1427) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 6, 2014
Bottle. Pours a hazy light golden color with a thick head that fades to some lacing. Aroma primarily of yeast with fruit in the background. Taste is similar with yeast and a fruity sweetness. Has a nice tart touch with a dry finish. Moderate body, tart, but quite smooth and refreshing. There is no hint of the 7.3% ABV. Enjoyable beer nice take on the style.
