COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our homage to the beers that have quenched the thirst of Belgian farm workers for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Saison is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treats–a beer as refreshing as it is complex. 7.3% ABV.

12 oz. bottle. Pours clear golden yellow color with a fizzy tight off white head that settles to a wispy film and continuous fizz. Aroma has a subtle yet noticeable funk some yeast and spiciness. Taste is bitter yeast barnyard and hidden fruit light spice some banana and light lemon finish. Palate is medium fizzy and drying. This is a good everyday Saison.

Pours a clear, then hazy lighter golden with a frothy eggshell head that settles to less than half a finger and leaves some thicker lacing behind. Nose includes zesty lemon citrus, spicy hearty Belgian-style yeast, a touch of funk, apple and white grape notes, and fresh herbs. Taste is somewhat sweet, somewhat tart, and a touch bitter. Lighter side of medium bodied, fairly active carb yet somewhat dull, tingly with a tart and bitter finish. Easy drinking for the ABV. Similar to a tripel, or a Belgian wit. Decent, but muddled to me, like some of the elements don’t work well together.

Had this on draft at breckenridge brewery in Denver. Orange cloudy pour. Sweet honey taste. Enjoyable beer and usually don't like these

This is a nice farmhouse ale, sweet with fruit and a nice spice and yeast finish. Cloudy golden pour with a thin white head. Palate is lively and then a dry finish.

Hazy honey color with a tall head. A bit of funk and yeasty esters on the nose - a bit of apricot. Taste is a nice balance of caramel sweetness, spice, and fruity hops. Dry, crisp finish. A winner.

12 oz bottle. Pours pale, golden and hazy with one finger of white head that retains nicely yet leaves little lacing. Yeasty nose, tropical fruit, wheat malts and earthy. Medium body with a sticky, dry texture. Somewhat creamy and smooth feel. Flavor is wheat-like malts and earthy yeast with a mild fruity hop flavor, faint bananas and vanilla. Refreshing saison.

Bottle. Farmhouse aspect in the nose, with some brett funk and a slight hint of puke...but in a good. way. Hazy pale gold with a thin ring of off-white head. Full bodied and moderately sweet from the relatively high abv. Reminds me of a fuller, richer version of Oskar Blues Mamas Little Yella Pils, another brew I’m a fan of. Not sure how a Great Divide Brew with over 400 ratings managed to slip my radar for this long. A little more Americanized than I would prefer out of a Saison, but a supremely enjoyable brew nonetheless. Nice effort.

Aroma is spicy yeast, bananas and a hint of sweetness. The flavor is complex spices, orange/citrus, complex bread from the different malts and a tart/tangy finish.

I love it. Just the right amount of funk. I let it settle, so it poured only slightly cloudy straw yellow, could have a lot more sediment if you like. Strong lemon and yeasty bread dough aroma. Sweet and tart with lots of fruit- lemon, apricot, tart apple - and a little spice. Lots of yeast character, sour funk, tartness, and that spiciness. Fairly quick dry finish. I’d put it in the biere de garde category rather than saison.
