On tap at Stone 17th anniversary party. An unclear, orange colored beer with a small dense white head. Curtains. The aroma has a nice saison yeast scent, orange peel, tropical fruits and a light sweet touch. Quite very on the palate, a bit fizzy. Medium body. Sweet tropical fruits, a little bitterness and some orange in the flavor, and peppery saison yeast. A bit sweet this one, else nice. 130816

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Disappointed. High abv but nothing special for its style. Average saison. More like a kolsch. Like white rice mixed with alcohol and a little seasoning.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a big frothy head and aromas that are... well... tart and pretty good. This bottle almost smells faintly of lambic-type tartness at first, but it has a little spice that starts to overpower it as it warms and then it gets a bit of a band-aid aroma. Flavor is more honey that sour, but there is a slight sourness that makes it a very interesting interpretation of the style. As it airs out and warms it gets a little more bland, but it is pretty interesting and I can’t say I have had a saison like this one.
