Bottle: Hazy beige color with a full white sticky head. The nose is floral with some grass, herbs and nice citrus and yeast notes. Creamy flavor and a spongy mouthfeel with some lemongrass and coriander notes. Right amount of funk and sweet citrus, I could use a little more sulpher, but it’s nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BBB63 (5406) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - NOV 22, 2009
Bottle and served in my big ole Karmeliet glass: Chilled hazed golden hue with a fluffy white head and clinging lace. The aroma has notes of wheat husks, pale biscuity malts, dusty yeast, lemon, pear, slight herbal hop and musty cellar. The taste is mildly tart and wheaty with a yeast driven background along with some mild pepper and mint. The mouth feel is lively (perhaps a tad too much) and refreshing where as the alcohol is dangerously well hidden till the aftertaste. This is the second attempt to rate this beer as I drank the first bottle so quickly I forgot to take notes, so I guess you could say I like this brew, huh.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 beerguy101 (5206) - Newark, California, USA - JUN 4, 2011
Sampled on 6/4/2011. This saison pours a slightly hazy light yellow gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is cereal, citrusy and sweet, some spices. A light to medium bodied saison. The malts are fruity and sweet, citrusy and cereal. The hops are herbal and citrusy. Lively carbonation. Crisp and clean. Light and refreshing. A little differently spiced than most saisons, a little hoppier and way more citrusy. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle. Cloudy lemony yellow, medium finely bubbled head. Aroma is very yeasty, eatery, with nice wheat and light spice. Palate is yeasty and lightly sour (maybe more apt to describe it as tart), wheat, light spices, and light phenols. Decent.

Bottle (22oz) shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, GregClow & tupalev -- c/o tupalev. Pours a hazy dark yellow with an average size diminishing white head. Aroma is yeasty and spicy along with citrus fruit and grassy notes. Flavour’s also yeasty and spicy along with some hops and lemon. Medium bodied. Well done, this is really enjoyable and a little underrated in my opinion.

Bomber from Capones. Pours a hazy deep golden with a soapy fluffy white head- slightly diminishing. Aroma is yeast, phenolic, doughy,. slight orange and soap with warm bread toastiness and sharp sweetness with herbal minty hints. Flavor is lemon grass, orange zest, toasted malts, bread, doughy yeast, shaprsweetness like a smarites or sweet tart candies with a tangy almost tart but more minty and herbal finish- which is farily dry. Middle of the road saison.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 heemer77 (5008) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JUL 22, 2009
Bomber. Hazy light gold body with a dense bright white head. A lemon scented nose with some dandelions. There was also some earthy sweat character. Lemon drops at first, the taste gives way to some malty hay. Plenty of carbonation keeps the mouth feel lively. I am not getting much beyond the lemon drops, one dimensional and boring. Another recent let down from a normally good brewer.
