COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our homage to the beers that have quenched the thirst of Belgian farm workers for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Saison is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treats–a beer as refreshing as it is complex. 7.3% ABV.

Bottle to glass. First time trying a saison. Aroma is grassy and barnyard hay. Some fruity hints too? I could not coax a head, though I poured relatively hard. It pours a very cloudy yellow. Taste is bitter and sour. A slick, somewhat sticky mouthfeel, flat carbonation. Not a fan of the saison.

12oz bottle - Aroma - Lemonheads, soft yeast, and herbaceous hops Appearance - hazy yellow body, 3-finger white head, no retention, light lacing Mouthfeel - light bodied, light/medium carbonation Flavor - light bitterness, some yeast flavors, lightly citric, and apple juice Overall - easy to drink, drinks lighter than a 7%’er. Almost pilsner’ish.

Im not a fan of this style, that said only have it on occasion but I got to say this is pretty nice. Not that typical banana clovyness. Aroma has some rich ripe fruit rind some yeastiness some slight pepper and a very small hint of a fruit-banana clove on the backend. A sweet fruit lemon comes out more. Taste has some rich malt with buttery like lemon with a nice sweet note. Has some pepper citrus rind and smooth creamy malt with subtle lemon. Refined and nice.

Draft some sub joint/bar in Westwood Village. Man, I’m striking out tonight, drinking Colorado here in Southern California. This one, unlike the new planet before it is at least highly rated on the site. But WTF?! It’s thin, eatery, with more lemon anything else. Sweet, a little bit of pepper. Super – disappointing. Light and hazy pour, not much head, I forgot to add that. Whatever. At least the Giants are losing.

Slightly hazy yellow with a fair white head. Balanced aroma. Yeasty. Fruity. Flavor follows. Yeasty. Citrus. Lemony. Smooth medium body. Fair dryness and sweetness. Tasty and drinkable.

I had this at Flying Saucer. Pours cloudy yellow with a white head. Taste citrus, tart, sweet. I thought this was good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours two fingers of head on a cloudy light straw colored body. The aroma lemon and "brett". Smells nice. The taste has a strong bitter and sour start, smooths out and finishes with a mild lemon bitter note. The texture is fizzy with a lighter body. Fizzy and enjoyable.

"Fruity and slightly tart is spot on. Light in body for the abv. Vibrant cloudy yellow, yeast driven for sure on the palate. I liked it, but I’m hoping for standouts from GD. This was "pretty good.""

This beer was kind of interesting. I wasn’t expecting the 7.3%. This beer has some yeast notes dominating. Belgian flavors throughout.

Draft sample. Very malty belgian ale that has a flavor reminiscent of cotton candy. How you can call this a saison I don’t know.

This is an exceptionally flavorful beer, maybe on the sweet and heavy side but definitely very tasty. It is cloudy golden in appearance and it has a decent sized ring of mixed bubbles for a head. It smells of citrus, lilac and banana. This is a full bodied beer and quite thick and oily. This does bring out some juicy citrus tones but overall I think this would be much better were it lighter bodied and more drinkable. Carbonation seems to be moderate but is toned down a bit by the strong sweetness. It finishes w/ a firm citrus rind bitterness which helps bring some balance though. This does have a nice flavor profile overall but I feel like it needs to be toned down a bit to be any better than OK.
