Our homage to the beers that have quenched the thirst of Belgian farm workers for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Saison is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treats–a beer as refreshing as it is complex. 7.3% ABV.

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2012 The aroma is very earthy, spicy, and an edge of sulfur. A thin white head sits in a hazy straw yellow beer. Flavors are citrusy and coriander-like spice. Perceptible tartness, slightly sour. medium light body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Cloudy yellow with a small white head that has good retention. The aroma is medium in strength with Belgian yeast, candied pears and some breead dough. The taste features candied white fruits and a hint of peppery spice. The palate is full. Finishes long a sweet with lingering rock candy. Overall: Not bad but just a tad too sweet for my liking.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass to drink. The beer had a clear gold-straw color with a large, foamy white head with good retention, and average cling and lacing. Its aroma featured a blend of floral and citrus hops scents along with straw, some spice, and a blend of yeast. The taste was fairly fruity and sweet with a slight tart yeast-straw affect for a bit of bitterness. It was a pretty well carbonated beer with a lighter body and a dry finish.

12 oz can bought from Lifesource in Salem OR. $2.39 Pours a pleasing cloudy yellow with a nice sized thick and persistent foamy white head. Nice yeasty , earthy and yet at the same time fruity aromas..slightly fermented hay in the sun! Taste adds some apple like sweetness to the yeast funk and leaves some clove behind t the back of the throat. Very nice mouth feel to this one..semi thick yet well enough carbonated to make it go easily. A nice tripel/saison hybrid!

Fat @Taproom Malmö Brygghus. Disig gul öl med vitt skum. Doft av citrus, jäst och lättare kryddighet. I smaken tillkommer hö och lätt blommighet. En saison som inte sticker ut.

Sample at SBWF 2016. Fruity smell with citrus. Similar taste with some yeasty spices. Fresh and refreshing.

355ml can. Pours hazy bright gold with a proud white head. Aroma is sweet farmhouse yeast. As expected with this brewery the palette was full and flavoursome with lots of richly sweet yeasty flavours, coming across more like a tripel than a saison. No bad thing. Loved every drop!

Bottle, Beers of Europe. Pale yellow golden colour, white foam. Lots of fruity esters, lemon and pear, clean malt, moderate bitterness, lively carbonation. Nice and thirst quenching.

Happy 400th beer rating! And this beer was worthy of that distinction! I was pleasantly surprised by this Belgian/farmhouse style ale, pours a clean yellow-gold color with thin white foam, estery Belgian yeast with a soft hint of clove on the nose. Flavor has grassy and tart yeast notes, grainy malt, sweet wheat, nice complexity! Flavor profile is light on the palate, but in a refreshing way, I suppose this brew actually utilized rice adjunct with a beneficial impact. Some peppery yeast notes in the finish, overall a pleasant light Belgian ale with more grass and malt than banana/bubblegum notes as is common for a standard Belgian. Highly recommended! Paired well with a seasoned meat and potato dish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tangy, grassy, yeasty nose with a touch of phenol mustiness. Cloudy, pale golden pour with quick white foam. Good initial taste with sharp esters, pepper, and a smooth malt backbone. Medium body with active fizz and strong, dry finish. The yeast notes are balanced here. There is some touch of the metallic phenol, but prominent grassy esters too. The barley and rice perhaps help with the balance as do the four varieties of yeast.
