Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 8/28/12, Bottled on 5/9/12

Aroma: The nose has some fruity notes, a good amount of malt, a bit of earth, and some grainy notes
Appearance: It pours a caramel color with a huge foam of beige head and some foamy head
Flavor: The taste has a good amount of malt, and some dry hoppy fruit flavors as well
Palate: The body is medium, it has an overly fizzy carbonation, and a rather dry finish
Overall Impression: The heavy fizziness of this one really takes away a lot from the drinkability. There is plenty going on, but it isn’t well rounded, and really just doesn’t work all that well in my opinion. Maybe I got a bad bottle, I don’t know. Mostly though, it is really still that intense fizziness that hurts the enjoyment immensely for me. This one has one of the worst mouthfeels I can remember on an otherwise decent beer.

Pours a golden amber with a medium white head. Aroma and Taste of biscuit malt, yeast, some fruity citrus notes and some floral citrus hops. Palate is a medium body slightly crisp mouth feel and some good carbonation. Finish is sweet biscuit malt, yeast, fruity citrus notes with some citrus hops on the end for balance with a bit of a nutty ending. Overall a good drinking a solid ale for this style

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2012 The Great Divide Denver Pale Ale is branded as English-style, but that doesn’t do it justice, being as robust as it is. The colour is dark amber. The malts in the middle are well balanced against the hops, creating a complex beer full of flavour, aroma and bitterness, but remaining fresh to drink a couple more.

Faint pine resin and grain on the nose. Pours clear copper. Flavor components are the same but more assertive. Pretty decent beer overall, but didn’t blow me away.

"A: Copper hued with a healthy 2 inch head which fades slowly and leaves a nice sticky lacing S: Malt, toast, slight funk T: nice and malty. balanced pretty well M: crisp w/ a slightly bitter finish D: a solid session brew. Notes: While this isn’t my favorite pale ale, I do enjoy and recommend it."
