DPA has risen to become one of the most award-winning English-style pale ales in the world. Sporting a brilliant copper hue and an assertive floral hop aroma, DPA is known for its smooth, malty middle, which is expertly complemented with hearty and complex hop flavor. DPA's extraordinary hop finish is marked by crisp yet moderate hop bitterness.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear golden beer with a thin white head. Aroma is faint, grainy. Flavour has some sweet touches of malt and touches of sweet spices. Bit of a herbal finish. Short aftertaste, bit yeasty. Decent brew.

Tap at Great Divide, Denver. Poured a clear medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is weak malt leading to a medium bitter flavour and a malt liqourice dry spice hop palate.

A fine example of a great English style ale. Perfect blend of hops and malt with the quintessential steely hard water taste and aroma. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2014 Appearance: rich darker gold color, almost amber, pours with a medium sized beige head, it’s moderately dense Aroma: intense grain, smells like my malt bag when I brew, pretty amazing, oats, can’t smell it enough Taste: very grainy, some hints of coffee, wheat, also has an assertive hop backbone that compliments the grain very well, oats Palate: slightly below average carbonation, bitter aftertaste, medium mouthfeel, Overall: this is a beer that tastes just like my home brewing malt cheese bag, it’s delicious, really wish we got great divide here, they named it pale ale but it’s head and shoulders better than other malt front beers ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Light fruity caramel, Tootsie Roll. Medium straw color. Brit-style light caramel initial / hard candy sweetness in mid / final with mild sweetness and then it all balances out. Medium body. Very nice. Now exactly and English pale but close enough, with light US hopping

This has an amber pour, but there is not a lot of flavor, mainly bread and gains and a little off flavor. Ill try again and re-rate, not sure about the bar where I got it.
